Everyone~

I know that many of us study on our own or even have games to keep our minds sharp in the Japanese language. I think the Shiritori game going on here is great. I am learning words and posting whats in my head at the same time.

I want to make this the link thread. So if you go to certain websites
that greatly aid you in your quest for Japanese fluency please post
them here.

I will kickoff~

The Japanese Page

About.com Go to this site. Type in the search Japanese Language
then check out the tons of stuff they got as far as culture, breaking
down Kanji and even Japanese cuisine (else where on their massive
site).

These may need for your computer to already be able to read Japanese symbols

If your computer can really read any Japanese font then PLEASE use this site:

I love the about.com Japanese Study help. That is where I learned detailed kanji including 鑰 meaning "lock" and 黼 meaning "embroidery". I highly recommend it. I am pretty sure it also has lessons for beginners too.

I went to the NHK news site today and found that they have daily Japanese audio lessons anyone can do. Its free and you dont need japanese fonts or whatever to read what they have. The lessons are about 14 minutes and have particualr grammar points you can go over. The lessons are taught by Japanese teachers and are easy to follow. If you are interested please follow this link and click English in the blue.

ULTIMATE KANJI QUIZ POST.

A fellow guild member asked about how to learn kanji because they couldnt attend a class. THE INTERNET IS A GREAT SUBSTITUTE TEACHER!!!

Here are some Kanji Quiz/Writing Links I found. I really hope they are benefical to you. There is even an anime type one. Different learning styles for different people! Enjoy!

How to Write and Understand Kanji
http://tomyee3.home.comcast.net/WriteKanji.htm

As far as memorization or stroke and meaning you will have to constantly quiz yourself on that part. Might I suggest internet sites that help you with that.

Various Kanji Quizes
http://www.myjapaneselessons.com/mjl/KanjiQuizServlet

Anime Flavored Kanji QUIZ! (I LOVE IT!!)
http://lustrazor.com/nakaone/quiz/

This sites shows you through Quick time How to write kanji and the different pronunciations for them!!!
http://www.dartmouth.edu/~kanji/

Simple to Difficult Kanji Quiz (It is kicking my upper level butt!)
http://www.kscrow.com/kin/JAPN/kanji_quiz/first_step.php
*rather empty screen but just click the link and you will start the quiz.
This quiz gradually upps the challenge. You toggle between hiragana and romaji THEN they start dropping the meaning and you have to go by the different pronunciations ONLY! Hehe. Me: 121/127 questions right!
