I found an icon of a feng shui mirror on one of the computers at school during a graphics class. It looked exactly like the Dharma symbol! I saved it to my iPod immediatly and brought it home. My sister agreed that it looked almost exactly like the Dharma symbol, so we did an image search and discovered that there are a lot that look like that. Also, Take Me Out pointed out that the South Korean Flag also contains some of the same elements.

I looked it up, and the concept is called Bagua. Here's a link to the Wikipedia information:

Bagua

I also put some pictures of things on lost the use the same shape/design.

Spiral Out was nice enough to explain the meaning of "dharma"

Spiral Out
Dharma is the underlying order in nature and human life and behaviour considered to be in accord with that order. Ethically, it means 'right way of living' or 'proper conduct,' especially in a religious sense. With respect to spirituality, dharma might be considered the Way of the Higher Truths. Dharma is a central concept in religions and philosophies originating in India. These religions and philosophies are called Dharmic religions. The principal ones are Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, all of which emphasize Dharma (the correct understanding of Nature) in their teachings.

Nope, that's why I was wondering. I bet it does fit in with the Lost mythology, though.

Is it just me, or does that have something to do with it too?

Also, the circle in the middle looks like the symbol on the main page of the Hanso Foundation website.

I didn't know that. Cool. I think my sister told me that it had a meaning in another language too. I don't remember it though...

Posted some other pictures that relate to this. The map on the hatch door is the same shape, as is the ceiling at Brian's house.
