I'd have to say its one of my favorite mangas yet. The plot is good and some of the art is fantastic. Has anyone else here read it yet? I can't wait till I can get my hands on book 3 ^.^

I've read it and loved it, I love all of Fumi Yoshinaga's works. But what's even better is the dojinshi she does for her own manga. I as literally laughing my head off while reading this.

Can't say that I have. Care to tell all of us uneducated manga enthusiasts a bit more about it?

I love Antique Bakery. I love the characters. A former boxer. A gay baker. A spoiled rich kid bakery owner with a mystersious past. A servant who gets taken care of more than he serves. It's all so much fun. I love those guys. I have one little problem with the manga though....it makes me hungry ;_; I mean, it's torture. You read the manga and then you're hungry for cake and tarts and all sorts of treats. ^_^;; Mmmm. It probably doesn't help that I have a poster on my wall with the berry tart.

Yeah, the art is awesome and as For-Chan Cookie said, its basically about a bunch of guys running a pastry shop, The baker causing quite a few problems being the 'gay of demonic charm' If you have read it, I'd have to say one of my favorite seens is where the baker is outside dancing in the rain with the bakery owners childhood friend. That and the whole episode with the whipped cream ^ ^

The idea of the manga appeals to me. I've never read or heard anything like it and one I got my hands on it, instant love. I really want the third book.

Antique Bakery is about a spoiled rich guy who decides he wants to open a bakery. Of course, his parents hire him the best French pastry chef. The chef just happens to be the guy who confessed to him in school! All these years later, the cruel rejection has turned our dear chef into a "devlish homosexual". In other words, every male who sees him falls in love with him! Quirky high jinx ensue.
The cast consists of Tachibana, the stubbled female crazy bakery owner with a tongue of silver which he uses to tempt customers into eating multiple desserts. Next, we have Ono, the delightfully queer and doggedly promiscuous baker. Then we have the dessert crazy former boxer, Eiji, who has become Ono's devoted apprentice (though he's not in love with him, just his baking). Rounding out the group, we have Chikage, Tachibana's loyal to a fault "servant" who ends up being taken care of by Tachibana more than anything else. He also has an innocent little crush on Ono. Too cute ^_^
All together, it makes for a really fun manga. Not overly gay or serious, it really has its shining moments and I've loved it since I first picked it up!
Also worthy of note, the manga has been turned into a television drama, which I've yet to see, but hope to soon.

I love it! I have them all! Though, I have to admit, I was sad when Tachibana and Ono don't end up together in the end... They were just so...! Anywho, there's also a drama adaptation for it, but Ono isn't gay.

Skizzors Tear of Death Anywho, there's also a drama adaptation for it, but Ono isn't gay. Whaaaa.. what? Why? How? He had a bad relationship with some girl, and now he's afraid to get hurt, or something like that. I didn't bother to watch the drama when I found out about that. emo The summaries are Wikipedia.
