The lights in the arena go dark as a spotlight shines upon the stage and Degenerat by Starset begins to play. Not red as it usually is but a normal, bright light that illuminated the new and improved Rex Kobra. Not dressed like a monster or a cultist, but instead dressed in a black suit with a red pocket square an button up. Rex stands in the middle of the stage and looks out at the crowd for a moment. He tips down the aviator shades on his face and peers over them, flashing the crowd a cocky grin as he starts down the ramp. Can you feel the way the worlds collide?
Can you feel the violence?
Do you wonder why?
Don't fall behind
Don't fall away
The wolves are at the gate
(And no one's safe)
Down, down, down, down, down
It's a race to the bottom
They fall
'Round and 'round and circle the drain At the bottom of the ramp, Rex stops and casts his cocky grin out at the crowd again. He walks around the ring, taking in the crowd, reveling in their boos. Their hatred seeming to excite him. After a full lap of the ring, he stops at the steel stairs and steps up them slowly. Letting the crowd expel all their hatred and their bile toward him. Never letting that smile fade from his face. So hit 'em with a whole tidal wave
We're killing it the entire way
We'll wash it down and annihilate
And have yourself a nice doomsday
Bending 'til we, bending 'til we break

Degenerate Stepping into the ring, Rex marched to the center fo the ring, and unbuttoned his jacket before stepping to a corner, stepping to the middle rope and flexing for all of his non existent admirers. As the boos grew louder, he let out a laugh, stepped down, removed his jacket and glasses and handed them outside the ring before looking back toward the ramp. Artificial sickness
Artificial pain
Manufactured victims
Of manufactured gains

Rex had marched to the ring, clad in his new looking suit and sunglasses, conspicuously without his tag partner. By the boos in the arena, however, you'd think Cartwright was right next to him. But after a moment, Pat McAfee's music started to play as the ring announcer called out for their opponents, starting with the media superstar. After about half a minute of music, though, Pat still hadn't made his entrance, prompting the stage crew to restart the theme as the announcer called for Patty Mac again...
...but yet again, no one answered the call. Couple minutes after the music had first started, Salem Croft came storming out from the backstage curtain, holding a microphone he'd snatched from gorilla position as he glared and called down to Rex as best he could over the fans' sudden cheers by his appearance.
"Okay, a*****e, where's Pat at? Where's Cartwright?! I know McAfee made it to the building, I brought him here, myself! What the hell is going on?!" Showtime snapped, demanding answers.

Salems question would be left lingering with no response for a moment before a camera backstage would pop up on the titantron. A bunch of screams could be heard as a flurry of officials, producers, and security would be on their way to the scene.
"No, god no!"
A voice that Salem was well acquainted with at this point. A pained scream from Pat MacAfee as the camera would find what the interruption was.
Omen had a hold of Pat by his collar, barely standing on his feet, before he would be drilled into one of the garage doors. Full force by the brute who had also left his mark earlier in the night. Since the Freak wasn't scheduled it seems Cartwright had this planned all along.
Pat would have his head slam into the cold, unforgiving steel door before he would fall backwards, flipping over himself and finally being at a standstill with his face down on the cement.
The officials and security would ambush Omen, beginning to push the Freak back who willingly began to step backwards. Seeing that his job was done and Pat was no longer able to move, let alone compete.

Salem watched in shock as Omen pummeled Patty Mac backstage, leaving him laying in no condition to fight, much less stand. For a moment, Salem considered calling the whole thing off, and hunting down the behemoth champion, giving him some receipts for assaulting his friend. But instead, Salem turned with malice in his eyes back to the ring, glaring and Rex, lifting the microphone to his lips.
"I'm gonna make you pay for that, 'pops'. Ring the damn bell!"
Slamming the mic to the ground, Salem approached the ring steps and entered the square circle, standing across from his daughter's grandfather as the two locked eyes and the referee called for the bell.

As soon as the bell rang, Rex would move across the ring, looking to start the match with the same impact he demonstrated at Pat's studio...by aiming a meaty fist at Salem's skull.

Rex had size and power on Salem, as was common for cobras and copperheads, but Croft had speed and agility. Laser focused on Rex since he stepped in the ring, "Showtime" slipped under the large man's hammer-like fist and turned as he stepped past, trying to slam a hard, axe-like elbow into Kobra's kidney!

Rex was hit with the elbow and let out a growl as he arched his back in pain slightly. Turning slowly, he would attempt another wild punch as soon as he saw Salem again.

Squared up at Rex's flank, Salem knew he had advantage over the bigger Kobra, but it was a slim benefit until he could find means to wear the giant man down enough for a critical strike! Once more, Kobra came forth with a cinderblock of a fist, forcing Salem to think quickly and duck under his wide swing - twisting dexterously to snap a knee into the same kidney once again!

Rex grunted as the knee connected. He arched his back again, seething through his teeth. He thought of swinging again but the pain from two kidney shots back to back have him a moment of pause.

The crowd may have been cheering as Rex reeled from the repeated kidney shots, but Salem was far less convinced he'd tilted the scales enough - rushing to the ropes in hopes to rebound and come back at Rex with more speed and force!

As Salem came running back at him, Rex would try to counter him with a thunderous big boot.

Rex was down but not out, evident by the big man's attempt to throw up a big boot into the skull of Salem! Croft knew he couldn't afford any mistakes, and instinctively ducked under the leg to try and recoil from the opposite cables and dropkick Rex in the back of his one planted knee!

Rex foolishly hadn't anticipated Salem dodging the boot and was taken off-guard as a dropkick was delivered to the back of his knee. The blow caused his leg to give way and Rex to drop to his knees.

Finally, Salem's early flurry of offense paid off some dividends by bringing the Rexual One to his knees, giving "Showtime" an opportunity! Rushing back into the ropes with a head full of steam, Salem strided back and swung his legs out, going for his signature Scissor Kick called the "Nap Town Shuffle"!
