From the end of the musky black tunnel, a light could be seen signaling life, or at least the beginnings of their trials. As all three companions would step into the room, each would easily be able to spot its relative... blandness. Perfectly square with two large doors on the left and rightmost walls. The center remained remarkably clean, while each of the corners being littered with the belongings that one would find in a personal quarter. A bed lined with boyish red sheets lining the southernmost wall and a hefty looking chest packed snuggly in the corner opposite to the bed. There were no hints for any sort of direction to proceed, and the only other thing note in the room was a mirror of elegant make, placed leaning against the wall next to the bed.

tab The first exam had been something of an eye opening experience for Chosuke. Having always been extremely confident in his physical capabilities, he had thought he'd be able to easily conquer the tasks that lie before him. However, between fending off a pack of spectral wolves and their fight with that strange boy, Chosuke had come to see that he still had a long way to go with his training. He had been unable to successfully defend his team initially and it took all he had just to free Kujaku from their enemy's clutches. He hadn't even managed to defeat the boy and only got to walk away from the battle because their opponent seemed to get bored with them. This was definitely a major blow to his pride.
tab Rather than succumbing to despair, Chosuke chose to use this wound as a driving force. Even if it was just for the exam, Chosuke was still the front line for his team, so it was his job to keep the others safe. Thus, this time he would be the ideal defender, standing as a barrier between his team and their enemies. And with this revitalized sense of purpose, Chosuke forged ahead, leading the way into the next leg of the exam.
tab After making their way down a long black tunnel, Chosuke finally spotted a light coming from the end. 'Let's do this!' he cheered internally, getting himself psyched for the next challenge as he took his first steps into the room. "ALRIGHT! WHO'S READY TO EAT MY ..... fists?" He entered the room with a mighty shout, daring any and all foes to come challenge him if they dare. However, as his eyes scanned the room and took in his current environment, his voice tapered off into confusion. With their last exam beginning with a hoard of shadow wolves descending upon them, Chosuke was expecting to be walking into a battlefield. Instead, this felt like they were intruding into a child's bedroom. "What the heck?" he questioned, scratching his head.
tab Walking further into the room, Chosuke was unsure of how to approach the situation. With no direct threats, he was unsure what it was they were meant to do in the room. There were two doors in the room, either of which could have led to a fight, but if that were the case, what would be the point of starting them in someone's bedroom. Chosuke just simply could not wrap his head around it. At the very least, it felt like they were meant to investigate the room and his attention was immediately drawn to the bed. "So uhhhh ..... what do you girls think is going on here?" he asked his companions as he made his way over to the bed and got down onto the floor, wondering if he might find something underneath the bed.

In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no activation for that specific instance of kai.

Miyuki followed Chosuke with a moderate apprehension about the tunnel. The last thing she wanted was for them to be crushed underneath with no way out. However, her fears were not realized. She entered the personal quarters along with Chosuke and frowned at the lack of visible traps or objectives.
"Girls?" She challenged him coyly with a raised brow, being many, many years his senior. She didn't hold it against him, though she was not feeling so hot after the younger man who'd attacked them earlier had called her a hag and housewife.
She shook her head to focus on the task at hand - whatever that was. "Perhaps it is time for some rest and relaxation," she suggested, though the amusement in her voice didn't make it to her face. She looked at herself in the ornate mirror. It seemed a little out of place in the personal quarters, and she herself looked a little ragged after the struggles from earlier. She tapped the mirror experimentally. "This mirror seems kind of weird."

tabKujaku used the trek down the tunnel to restore her energy to its former glory. While the blue haired girl hadnβt been conscious to the fight with the boy, the conflict did affect her as well. Sheβd been careless and easily taken advantage of, and it couldβve cost her team their lives. Even with her powers as Sage sheβd been immediately taken out of commission, which made her even wonder if sheβd have been any help in the fight anyway. But anything wou;dβve been better than her contributions. So Kujaku stayed alert, wary of any traps as the group continued to their next destination.
However, as the three made their way into the next room, it seemed a littleβ¦ anticlimactic. The Genin tilted her head as she watched Miyuki and Chosuke go about their own investigations. Kujaku didnβt realize how nervous and highstrung she was feeling until Miyukiβs jab at Chosuke washed it away. She felt her tense body relax. βChosuke, are you trying to make a move on Miyuki? Youβre such a playboy~β She giggled and covered her smile with the tips of fingers, allowing herself a moment to enjoy the company of her squad. The moment of respite was just that: a moment. Soon it was back to work.
With Miyuki on the mirror, and Chosuke looking at the bed, that left one thing for Kuajku to examine. Well, two actually. The girl crossed her fingers together and made and effort of chakra and a clone of her instantly appeared next to her in a poof of smoke. The two Kujakuβs split up and each went to examine the doors at the other end of the room. They tested opening them, checking just how secure they were. Really giving them a good up and down.

The doors remained solid through all of Kujaku's efforts. Their sleek metal surface, refusing to budge by any means short of a miracle. All in all, even though the room now held life in it, everything remained eerily calm. A mistake? Or some elaborate cage? The question hung in the air as heavy as the dust from its rocky surroundings. Then dropped their first response: a girl. Young and with bright red hair, peeking out from behind the chest. Her solid green eyes might have been noticed by Miyuki first. With the mirror serving to catch the spy in the act. Or at least it would seem that way; when any quick turn around or even glance over from her fellow teammates would reveal that this girl only existed in the mirror's reflection.

tab Sadly, Chosuke's hunch about the bed proved to be fruitless, finding the space underneath the bed to be as empty as the space between his ears. "Rats." he said quietly to himself. While his search efforts had not provided to the group as of yet, it seemed his words had given his teammates a small giggle. He was happy to hear they were enjoying themselves, though sadly he didn't understand what it was he said that amused them. Still nevertheless, he joined in on their laughter, as he often did when jokes went over his head. After all, having to explain a joke often killed the mood so he found that it tended to best just to laugh along and allow the conversation to move on. He didn't mind being outside the loop so long as everyone else was enjoying themselves.
tab Rising to his feet, Chosuke listened to Miyuki's suggestion that this room may have served as a resting point. "Hmmmmm. Maybe?" he pondered. The first exam had been a tough experience and between the wolves and that weird kid, they'd done a lot of fighting. He could definitely wouldn't mind a chance to rest his muscles and let his body recover a bit. With this in mind, Chosuke allowed his body to fall back onto the bed, his legs laying over the edge from the knees down and his hands placed behind his head with his fingers laced. "Either you two find anything? I got nothing over here." he called out to the pair as he stared up at the ceiling.

Miyuki shook her head in disappointment to Chosuke's question. "I have got nothing," she said before turning back to give the a mirror a passing glance. She saw the girl inside and yelped, nearly jumping out of her skin as she took a few steps back. "What the hell is that? Huh? Who are you?" She gripped her tanto, but didn't yet hold it out in front of her defensively, not wanting to initiate combat if the girl was a friendly. Miyuki looked around but didn't see the girl anywhere but inside the mirror.
"Genjutsu?" She pondered aloud, hoping one of her teammates could shine a light on the scenario.

tabβNothing over here either,β Kujaku reported back with a tired sigh. A look at her clone prompted it to shake its head before it disappeared. She was about to go sit down next to Chosuke before Miyuki exclaimed. The sudden tone shift made the girl jump and suddenly become extra alert. Kujaku hurriedly looked around the room for any sign of a threat, but soon found nothing. Until she turned to her companion and saw the source of what put the woman on edge.
A small girl in the reflection of the mirror. Kujaku did what any normal person would do and looked behind her at where the girl would be. But it was strange, or spooky, because when the blue haired girl looked no-one stood where the girl was reflected. βIf itβs a Genjutsu, it sure is complicated to get all of usβ¦β Kujaku muttered thoughtfully to Miyuki. The Genin figured there was a simple way to get to the bottom of this. She bent down so sheβd be eye level with the girl in the mirror. βHello there~β she said softly, a warm smile on her face and her hands on her knees. βMy nameβs Kujaku, whatβs yours?β

Coaxed by Kujaku's sweet words, the little girl came running up to the forefront of the mirror. The lightest traces of joy curled her lips into a playful grin. A playfulness that caused lips to jump excitedly. With bright earnestness, the redhead tried desperately to communicate. Her desire was palpable, yet not a sound could pass through the mirror. Joy soured into frustration. In a refusal to give up, the girl swung wildly with her arms. Hopefully, to draw the group's attention to her rightβor Kujaku's leftβalong the stone wall. Where a light outline in the perfectly carved stone was visible. Almost as if it were meant to be pressed in.

tab It would seem that his two companions had not had any luck with their own searches either. Or at least, that's how first seemed. However, a brief outburst from Miyuki told Chosuke that she had found something. 'Finally.' he thought as he eagerly pushed himself off the bed. Of course, part of him was concerned for his teammate, having heard the panic in her voice. At the same time though, he was excited to finally be getting to some action. What would be this time? Another giant monster? A really strong guy with a big sword? Bears? He couldn't wait to see who his opponent would be.
tab Rushing to Miyuki's side, Chosuke turned his attention towards the mirror, eager to see what she had seen. And that's when he saw her, the little girl. Chosuke let out a brief sigh, a mix of relief and disappointment. It seems he'd have to continue to wait before he found his next battle. Still, it was at least a curious predicament they now found themselves in. Just what was going on with this little girl that she could only be seen in the mirror. At the mentioning of possible genjutsu, Chosuke scratched his head. "Hm. Maybe. I'm no good with that stuff though I can't really say." he said.
tab With Kujaku coming to join them, she offered a brief thought on the matter of the genjutsu before beginning to speak with the little girl. Her words seemed to strike a chord with the seemingly shy little girl, who now came eagerly running up to the forefront of the mirror. However, much to the little girl's disappointment, it seemed they were unable to hear her from within the mirror. Chosuke couldn't help but pity her. "So supposing this isn't genjutsu, how do you all think she got stuck in there? Think maybe there's a way to get her out?" he questioned, giving the mirror a few gentle taps with the backside of his fist. His first thought was maybe breaking the mirror could possibly set her free but he was also open to other suggestions.
tab Seeing the little girl begin to then frantically wave her arm, Chosuke followed the direction of her gesture. By doing so, he noticed part of the wall appeared to be outlined, at least in the mirror. "Woah. Do you all see that?" he said, not fully sure what to make of this development.

Miyuki appreciated Kujaku's levelheadedness in suggesting that a genjutsu would need to be pretty complicated to grab all three of them. She agreed, and felt a little more at ease at the thought that this was likely not an illusion. It was an unhappy development that girl in the mirror couldn't talk, but she did communicate pretty clearly about the wall. Miyuki nodded solemnly at Chosuke's observation. "It seems to me that we should interact with it," she announced as she moved to the stone and rested her hand on it.
"This is either going to solve the problem or create more," she mused evenly. Then, she pushed it in.

βHmmm, I wonderβ¦β While Miyuki went to press the button on the wall, Kujaku knelt down in front of the mirror. The girl focused chakra into her lungs before letting out a cold, near subzero temperature, breath of air. It was light, just enough to form a thin layer of frost on the glass of the mirror. Chosuke brought up an interesting point, one that wouldnβt quite leave the blue haired Genin alone. So Kujkau quickly traced her finger along the frozen glass to write out a message. βThank you for your help~ By the way: Who are you, and how did you get in this mirror?β
