 Light Rain had found a place to belong, she had successfully joined the Selkie pack and to them she owed the truest loyalty. So far they had given her no reason not to. All the rules were reasonable the pack was friendly, you know the best of both worlds. It was then that she had remembered something precious of her mother's that she wanted to bring home to her new lands. Her mother had been tending a small tree that was rooted into an old block of wood. Her mother had enjoyed tending it and watching it grow, just like she had watched her daughter. "Once day this tree will be great, a lord of the forest." Since trees lived so long, her mother had said that it would one day be up to her and her children to tend this tree and let it grow. Thus the tree had to come to Selkie land. She never thought that she would be back here again, these old trees and forest floor. It was home but now it was not. She did not have so many good memories here. She wanted more. She had collected her tree and was on her way back to her new pack when a scent trail distracted her. It was a male and he smelled like rain in a cedar forest with a touch of juniper and char. Hmmm, no one else smelled like that that she knew. She blinked and put the tree down to follow the scent. Who was this? She snuffled, sifting over the leaf litter until there was a leaf on top of her nose. She sneezed and it fell off. She howled by instinct.

 He ruffled his furr with a shake of his head down his neck to the tip of his tail, he had felt it was nice after taking care of puppy's all day long to come out and enjoy the red wood witch surrounded the crow's territory, however he had traveled deep in to the forest far from his pack. after ruffling his fur, taking a deep breath of the nature around him " It smells much different here from the pack lands." he muttered to himself as he walked along the forest floor tail swaying seldomly behind him as he began to run ,weaving between the trees rolling on to the forest floor he laid there staring up past the canopy of trees delighted by the summer light breaching the leaves. " I'm sure Searing Raven would enjoy this as much as I." he said as he paused, he heard a howl but what kind ? he wondered, soon he found himself rolling to his paws fearlessly charging towards the sound rather than away. soon he began to smell the ocean and sand lingering , not only that a wolf? a female at that, he slowed his run to a stop, his noses sniffing, his ear flickering as he took a breath and let out a howl, one of curiosity but deep and loud. it rang out threw the forest "who is there?" he asked curiously as his howl traveled across the winds. his tail up high and ears perked up,

"Oooh! An answer!" She danced a little in delight, and what a lovely base howl it was too. Definitely not a lady wolf then. She howled again so he could get a sense of her from her voice. "Light Rain of the Selkies." She bounded toward the howl that had sounded in the distance, he had a scent so intriguing that she had to see what this guy looked like. With a scent like that she bet his name was Molten Cedar or something. His scent thickened on the wind, she slowed, she was getting close. "Hello?"

He was waiting patiently near an opening of the forest central of the trees before him a lake., he raised his paw stepping further in to the brake between the trees, soon another howl met his ears he perked his head up listening to her howl, he knew she was closer, taking another breath he howled once more, this time he held it for longer "I am Echo Of ember flames from the Crows, what brings you here?" he wondered why a wolf would freely call out to him like this if not to ward away or warn of taritory, but this was different, he felt like vine tugged at him to fallow the sound, not stopping their he began to run deeper into the forest towards her howl, before skidding to a stop not far from where he had found the lake, his tail raised and he walked closer seeing a dame with radiant fur coming his way, he stared in her direction with his golden eyes, curious he walked a bit closer "Was it you who reply to my howl? Are you Light Rain?" he asked his tail lowering into a soft wag, he looked content , he did not bark or growl but he looked welcoming despite his fiery golden eyes gazing directly in to her own his eyes widened in awe he sat "Your eyes, their like moonlight" he said softly

"Ooh." She skidded to a stop, his voice was lovely, it did something to her, made her skin tingle. "Yes, I'm Light Rain." "I was just curious, I was heading home when I came across your fresh scent and well I have to admit it piqued my interest," she would not say he smelled good, no. But he did. "I sort of howled without really thinking and then I got your reply and well I felt compelled to see it through. Sorry." He probably thought she was a raving lunatic. "M'm..my eyes?" His body language was welcoming and he had such a kind look in his eye, she blushed furiously. Had they been swept away like two puppies? She smiled, "Well your not too shabby yourself, there more handsome wolves around these parts like you? Maybe I shouldn't have left for the coast."

He couldn't help but smile, his tail gently wagging behind him as he listened to her, he moved in closer " Well I'm glad you are an ally at least rather than an enemy I must be blessed"he soon made his way over and sat across from her listening to her reasoning "well I'm one to talk I did the same, I'm glad I found you rather than a more rogue wolf." as his ears flicked gently he smiled once she began to stammer at his remark about her eyes " yes they are indeed like moonlight, so pale and glimmering like a new moon" he was entranced by them and her he shook his head gently " I'd hardly call myself handsome" he said gently rubbing his muzzle with his paw " I mean I'm covered in scars beneath all this fur" he said as he smiled at her " plus its much better for you to be in a pack. I'm sure since your a selkie now its pretty safe for you, as much as I'd tempt you to be a crow if you where not already, but I'm glad you are connected to my pack, " he said laughing nervously he felt warm and his stomach tingled like butterflys "They are really lucky to have you as much as I'm lucky to gaze upon you, it makes me a bit jealous they will get to see you every day" he remarked

"Your pack is connected to the Selkies? Oh the Crows, yes, forgive me I just joined and haven't had time to process all of the information bestowed upon me yet. I hope to do better." He was even closer now, she wasn't sure what he meant about not being handsome because he was handsome all over. Scars were sexy, they meant you were a survivor. "Well I think you are very good looking, you must not have seen yourself lately." She winked. "Scars mean you are a survivor and that you are more interesting than many others." "Well if we are allys then there is no rule that says you cannot visit, or maybe you will chose to join, they give you a beach vacation right upfront." She grinned figuring that he knew about the trial. She had enjoyed hers actually so she could joke about it. "What do you think of the Selkies? Has there been any events between the two packs that I should know about?"

Nodding as he padded his paw in to the grass gently. " Yes, recently due to your alpha taking his fathers place he has begun to renew ally-ship with packs witch once his father had connections with, or so I've heard tho i do not know much" he said as she apologized he chuckled. " You have no reason to be sorry you are new and have much to learn. for now take an easy learn the ropes." he said with confidence. Tilting his head as she seemed to fall quite for a moment lost in thought, he perked his ears once again as she began to speak finding he was now a bit embarrassed again "w..well I do but," he paused and buried his muzzle beneath his paws as he laid down, if it was possible he'd be blushing such a vibrant red at this time, she was really hitting his buttons. " I supposes your right, it is and I did survive so there for I'm stronger than I once was" he stayed there for a moment before slowly rising up looking in to her eyes again, it was like her eyes were magnets. listing carefully he soon found himself bellowing out a laugh "I'm not a fan of the heat despite my name. though a vacation doses sound quite tempting, maybe ill take one just to come see you." a coy smile framed his face "well not as of yet no events, and from what the legend around here tells,they say the original family line where actually a wolf brought to live by a mystical being. a enchantment pleased on the pelt of a seal giving it life as a wolf." his smile some what faded as he thought of the news that had come to pass him in his travels before he settled down as a crow. " its a tragedy however, the alpha and his sister lost their parents. a typhoon many years ago too not only the alpha and his mate away but a majority of the pack as-well leaving only 5 members out of more than a dozen" he looked down as he shook his head " I'm just glad now they are recovering from a grate loss" he said on a positive note " if you want to learn more you may want to ask the caretaker or one of the original pack members but never ask the siblings" he said softly.

"Wow that is mind blowing magic right there, seal pelts turning into a wolf. You know I have yet to hear anyone bark like a seal." What a cool story to be part of your original story, ancestors turned from pelts to wolves. Had she been a wolf always? If not she pet she came from a fox pelt, not a seal but who knew? "Actually your quite full of good information, thank you for the tip about the siblings, my new alpha is so sweet I would hate to hurt him." What a sweet and sensitive wolf she had met! Could it be was he a keeper? "I would be delighted if you visited me Ember." She smiled. She hoped he would too. It would be nice to have a visitor. Especially this one, he was a fine boy.

He couldn't help but laugh as she said that " Barking like a seal would be quire hilarious" he said as he gave it a thought. "And ya it is a pretty magical legends id say myself." he smiled at her. " I wish I could offer more, but I know very little aside from there legend and rumors I hear on the wind, but I'm glad I could help." he said as she mentioned visiting her he shyly looked down and nodded. " sure thing Rain i would be delighted to visit you ones you get settled in." he said before looking back up to her "The same for you, and i know things are difficult out there in the run so maybe I could bring you a house warming gift."tail once again waging with delight. " hey and if you need any help just give me a howl or send me a bird I'll be sure to lend a paw" he said with delight finding himself once again staring into her eyes, to stop himself he cleared his through and brought himself up from sitting. raising his head up too look at the sky, time sure flew by as they spoke but he was really enjoying it he didn't want to go "well Rain I think I should be heading back now" he said somberly turning away, he wished he could take her home but she was far from close, he took delight in knowing he could visit her at least.

Rain grinned. She really liked this guy. "Aww a house warming gift you are really so sweet. If you ever need help I'm also only a howl away, your voice is so rich and distinct I'm sure I will recognize it." She caught him staring into her eyes again and daringly licked him sweetly on the cheek. "I would like to see your pack, but I must bring this stuff home, I don't want them to worry about me." Duty was drawing her away, but she didn't want him to go, what if he had just been a mirage this whole time? Her tail had been wagging but was now drooping sadly. "Goodbye Ember, come to see me soon."
