- Something is in the air, and it feels... heavy. Not necessarily bad, but it weighs on the heart. Celebrations are abound everywhere, for certain, as Night of Frights is a beloved holiday all together, but it's there -- waiting. Some say it's a sickness that causes those who get it to be lethargic and confused. Others say it's a warning of something to come. Others just laugh.
October has always been a fun month of spooky celebrations and events. Every major city and town have something going on throughout the month, causing ponies to gather together in numbers. The trick Alicorn of Fertility has been known for playing a few 'pranks' on ponies, bestowing them children even if they've never known the other parent. Unfortunately, something is... wrong.
Her color is dull and eyes bloodshot. She's sick, and Seraphim walks with a heaviness to her. Her mood is absent, as if sucked completely from her. Her powers are not hers currently. She'd never use them while feeling so under the weather, but they have a mind of their own under this strange sickness. Ponies are 'blessed' with breedings, and while she tries to hide away in her home within Dream Valley it seems it doesn't stop her powers from targeting random couples and strangers.
The babies are.. different. Unknown markings appear on foals, much unlike their parents. Mutations that make little sense sprout. The baskets... oh, the baskets -- it seems any basket who touches the babies are corrupted by whatever magic flows through them. They look strange, as if something lurks inside, and often twitch and shudder (growling also isn't off the table!). The kingdoms still send out enchanted baskets to protect the weak foals in hopes that, regardless of their, err, peculiarities they still protect the wee one itself.
Rest assured -- while the babies may take on some strange colors and traits they're still like any other child! Most of them, that is. It isn't unheard of for corrupted babies to come out more irritable or violent, but it's not the norm. No, these kids behave like any other child despite their strange birth, and their baskets cause no harm. It's just all so... strange.
Rules:
- You may enter 3 planned breeding slots and 3 mixer entries. You will need a breeding permission for planned breedings! Mixer entries should not be ponies placed in a planned breeding.
You may win only 1 planned breeding and 1 mixer breeding. Regardless of who posted the pair. Both users will be marked.
Your breeding will have random markings and edits. The point of these breedings is the unique random additions. Colors and markings not present on the parents will appear, strange mutations can appear, and you can receive a chance for a child to have a hybrid edit. This is all up to the colorist, but your breeding will have something on them that the parents do not have.
You may only keep one basket each. These breedings are restricted to allowing only one basket per owner involved. If you receive extra you must gift or game off -- it's your choice.
Mixer breedings mean you can be paired with anyone. Please be polite and civil about this. We will pair your pony with anyone we feel sparks inspiration.
These breedings are eligible for the unique Halloween certs. When certing, state if you'd like a Pumpkin or Dark cert. Alternatively, if you wish for neither, just leave the option alone.
Other breeding rules apply. Any other breeding rules apply, such as how long it'll take to grow, how numbers are determined, and more. Check the breeding guide for more information. Only the one basket per owner rule is unique.
These are PWYW. When a colorist takes a breeding, they'll let you know. This is a Pay What You Want event, but some form of compensation for time is needed! Just throw a trade at the colorist and they'll begin their work.
