tab Kiwi stood outside the pink and white building, hair falling into his face. He had given Starry Night directions to his mom's cutesy and strawberry themed shelter and was awaiting her arrival. He chewed nervously on the inside of his cheek, eyes distant. There were plenty of animals to choose from and he could only hope one would end up bonding with Starry. She had seemed so eager for a pet. Now that Kiwi thought about it... he didn't even have a pet. Strange, considering his family business, but maybe he too would find a friend of his own.
tab Of course, only if Starry found hers first. He leaned back, catching the eye of his mother in the window. He diverted his gaze the moment she gave him a knowing grin. She had been teasing him for almost the entire day about his friend coming over. His only friend, even.

Starry Night made sure she went to bed at a reasonable time. The stars would wait for her another night. Her dreams were filled with visions of different critters playing with her and others. Wotters playing on the backs of Lotus Turtles, an Inu attempting to play with a Mau that has no interest in it and Budgies happily singing a tune. Of course she loved each one but she wasn't sure which one would fit her. Once she was up she cleaned up her bed and herself, said goodbye to Aviary and headed out of the tower.
Kiwi's instructions were very clear and she found her way to the animal shelter in no time. She looked over the very cute strawberry themed building and smiled, even if her heart was racing a mile a minute. She was nervous yet so excited! Then Kiwi met her eyes. "Kiwi!" Starry happily bounded over to her friend and gave him a tight hug. "You have NO idea how excited I am! ... and nervous!" She shuffled a bit. "What if they don't like me?" She frowned a bit, but she may have just been overthinking it. Plus, Kiwi was already a really awesome friend.

tab Kiwi visibly perked as he heard his friend approaching. That was okay to say, right? Friend? It was all so new... He smiled gently, pushing hair from his face as he returned the hug. He laughed lightly, head shaking.
tab "I'm s-sure they'll li-like you," he answered. "There is a-always a pet for a-anyone. We'll find o-one." He stepped back, noting the door nervously. Still, while he believed what he said he did feel nervous! He wanted to see who her new pet would be. The fact he himself was helping her find her first pet made his chest thump. This was a big deal -- he felt excited.

"N-not at all!!" But really she was! It was just the nerves talking that much she knew. "I am though." She blushed and shuffled, drawing tight little circle in the ground with her hoof.
She didn't know what to expect. She took a deep breathe. Everything will be fine, Starry. If you don't find an animal friend you'll still have Kiwi as one. She nodded to herself. "Ready!" She just hoped her excitement wan't off putting to Kiwi or the animals inside.
