tab Lavender Incense had invited her newest friend to her incense shop; Sweet Scents. While she hadn’t expected to make a friend on a frozen lake of all things, she wasn’t complaining. Mostly, she just liked their company, and Lavender was constantly working. That, and the ghoulie had seemed interested in various herbs and flowers, which Lavender had a few bottled on the far wall. Maybe they’d take interest in those, too?
tab She tapped her claws against the counter, irritation thick in her throat. Her papa had, again, lectured her after his recent discovery of her part-time gig. The fact she had her own apartment and life didn’t stop her papa from deciding she needed him to correct her. She loved him, of course, but any pony would find themselves gritting their teeth if their parents butted into their lives. Really, she was just looking forward to seeing her newest friend and forgetting her papa’s temper.

The amount of ponies in one place at any given time never ceased to amaze Shadra. A sense of wonder filled her chest whenever she set foot in an area with more than a handful of others milling about and it may have taken the ghoulie a bit longer to navigate her way to her new friend's shop for that very reason. With all her courage as she walked down the road, she seemed to shrink into herself, Grimlock holding closer to her than normal, the closer she came to her destination. For a moment, she simply stood before the door, chewing her lip in thought. Surely the lovely unicorn hadn't suddenly changed her mind about her, but the fear was still there and it was that which froze her in place. Grimlock nudged his head under her elbow, churring an encouraging sound before repeating the action. "Pretty pony waitss," he hissed softly, a set of amused noises akin to laughter spilling from him when she seemed to frazzled more at his attempts to encourage her. Before her tail could cheer her on any further, Shadra took a deep breath and opened the door. All at once, she was surrounded with a variety of scents, all of which seemed muted. She paused again, this time allowing herself to breathe more easily, before she made her way to the counter with a small wave and soft smile.

tab Lavender Incense perked as the door opened, leaning against the counter as the familiar ghoulie walked up to the counter. She returned the wave, propping herself upright on the counter to see Shadra easier.
tab "You made it~" she hummed, glad her directions were clear. She nodded towards Shadra's tail, resisting the urge to reach forward and give chin scratches. Did the tails like that? Was that rude? She played with her braid as she swept away from the counter, trotting up to Shadra's side.
tab "I'm glad! We just got a shipment of some rather rare plants. I heard they're great in potions. Normally, I use them for scents, but I have a wall of plants on their own for other ponies to purchase for their own scents. Maybe you'll find something to your liking?" She looked at Shadra, hopeful and perhaps a tad proud of her find.

Shadra watched Lavender's lips move rapidly as she spoke, quickly piecing together her words with a wide smile and nod. Bright eyes moved to the shelves before her, taking in the various items sectioned neatly in their appropriate places. The longer she looked, the more her jaw began to fall slack. There were plants here that had taken her months to find by herself, some much longer than that. There were even more she needed on a weekly basis simply because of their multiple uses and the traveling involved always wore her out if Twister wasn't around to help. While the ghoulie marveled at the extensive collection before her, her tail swayed closer to the pony next to her. Grimlock, unashamed, tucked himself under their unicorn companion's chin with a rumble akin to a purr. He knew it wouldn't take his ghoulie long to figure out he was cuddling the pretty pony that befriended her, but he wasn't exactly making any moves to stop his affection, either. That is until Shadra turned to look at Lavender again. Her cheeks immediately flared a deeper maroon and her paws moved to the base of her tail to try and gently coax him away, mouthing apologies for her overly affectionate tail. She frantically explained that he wasn't usually like this, though the other probably wouldn't be able to catch all of it. She was "speaking" too rapidly and she'd left the parchment in her bag. Grimlock chuffed as he laughed at her and did nothing to calm her. He knew he really hadn't done anything wrong. His Shadra was just a bit more tightly wound than normal today, which only amused him all the more as she shot a glance to him.

tab Lavender felt her stomach drop as she watched Shadra piece together what she had said. It was still a process remembering that she needed to speak slower. She was so used to just babbling as she pleased, but she wanted Shadra to see what she had to say. Something about the ghoulie was comforting, and it was important to Lavender that they could communicate.
tab As Grimlock leaned towards her she briefly hesitated. Was it rude to touch another persons tail? Well, in most instances, yes, but what if the tail was sentient? As he nuzzled under her chin she raised her hooves as she laughed, gently patting the friendly tail. She liked him, really. The moment Shadra turned she blinked up, ears perking as she tried to piece together what Shadra was communicating. She had a clue, though, as the other seemed to be tugging at their tail.
tab "No no, it's fine! He's a sweetie, honestly. I don't mind!" Although she could see why someone would be embarrassed about their own tail snuggling up to someone. She shook her head lightly, looking down at Grimlock.
tab "I bet you cause a lot of trouble for her, don't you?"
