The clock ticked overhead as the last of the morning treats were slipped into the case, the coffee machines turned on, and Fireside Shadows found himself wondering just how this day would go. Hestia had been off and on closed for the most part due to the holidays, what with his sister's need (and therefore somehow his responsibility) to spend time with family "back home" keeping the pair out. The unicorn had missed the shelves of books that lined one side of the building from top to bottom, and he glanced over at the stairway that lead to the second floor. With his working staff having not arrived yet it would be just the stallion; a perfect opportunity to relax for a moment or two with a simple mug of cocoa and a nice book. Downtime was rare for him considering the sort of.... clientele that loved to drop in, so he'd take the moments as he could get them. Cocoa made and book in hoof, he settled himself against one of the longer couches for a brief period of solitary happiness. It likely would not last.

Aviary waved goodbye to her parents as she finished up the free breakfast in their hotel lobby. Soon it would be time for her to find her own adventures in the town of Everville.
She threw her trash in the bin, put her pack on, and headed off to Hestia to look through some of their other books on birds...and maybe arts and crafts.
She made sure to pack some cash this time so she could buy some hot cocoa or a cookie.
The blue foal skipped up to the front door and let herself in.

The sound of the bell over the door caught Fireside's attention, and for a moment he found himself wondering just who was in at this hour? Most ponies would still be sleeping, he supposed, and setting his book down he moved to peek and see who'd come in. There was an audible sigh of relief over the sight of a familiar little filly, and Fireside smiled despite himself. "Aviary, good morning. Here a little early today?" While the stallion was loathe to admit he liked anyone (when in fact he enjoyed the company of most everyone), he could never keep such a secret around the little foals. Or rather, around foals who were well behaved and didn't try to eat on their shifts. Or damage books. Or. The list went on and on but that was neither here nor there, and he moved to greet his guest. Not a customer, since he assumed Aviary was there for her usual manner of browsing and being spoiled by the staff. "I assume your parents know you're here?"

"Good Morning, Mr. Shadows!" She said cheerfully. She wasn't fully aware of what time it was other than 'morning.' "Well, They know I'm here or at the Park. They said the Gem Museum was fine too. Oh and Melty's too. I have a keycard to our room this time." She noted with a small nod. "um, How are you doing today, Mr. Shadows?"

It was bright and early, and Pumpkin Spice was assigned to work today at Hestia. Since business was slow lately, the foal was given a lot of days off, but today was one of those days that he would be on the clock.
Barely getting out of bed, Spice zipped out and ran to the workplace, slowing down to a trot as he reached the front door. Casually making his way to clock in, he noticed Aviary and Fireside Shadows already breaking into a chatter. Boy oh boy, friends! Spice knew today was going to be a great day! But he had to clock in first and organize a few shelves and then he could chat for a bit!
"Good morning!" he cheerfully called out as he made his way over to the front desk's to-do list.

Annnd there one of his workers was, popping in (a bit) early and filling the shop with loudness. It was actually refreshing to hear him in, Fireside begrudgingly thought, considering how long it'd been since the foal was on shift. Thankfully the colt was of a good sort and thus would get a good reply. For now. "Spice, good morning. There are some scones set out if you'd like to eat before your shift."Woe unto the little foal who thought he could take a snack onto to the floor - again - and handle books with soiled hooves. There was not enough yuletide cheer in all of the world to prevent Fireside Shadows from exploding over that. But then Aviary had asked him a question and he was due to reply. "I'm good, glad to be back. I missed the old girl, my books," He paused and winked down. "And one of my favorite little fillies. There's a scone out for you too if you want it, just ask Pumpkin Spice where." He hadn't known she'd be coming but it was always safe to assume - plus his sister tended to over-bake anyway. That mare was dangerous in the kitchen.

"Good morning Spice!" Aviary calls to her friend. When Fireside winked at her she giggled and ran after Pumpkin Spice to retrieve her scone. "Didjya hear that Spice?! I'm one of his favorites!" Even though she was only a foal, she found Fireside to be "Pretty" as she currently had no other word for it. "How are you doing today, Spice?"

Looking up, Pumpkin Spice heard the word 'scones' and his stomach started to rumble. But wait. Fireside really said before his shift? Okay!
He was about to get a scone, until Aviary mentioned that she was one of her brother's favorites. "That's good! It's fun being other ponies' favorites." he said, secretly knowing that he was Fireside's favorite brother.
"I'm umm... working today; What about you two?"

"Just trying to find something to do while my mom and dad are visiting friends. I feel bad because I had begged to just stay home, cause there isn't much to do... but I've met lots of great ponies this time!" She bounces with happiness and reaches for her scone.

With a jingling of a bell a small Ghoulie stepped into the store. She was still unaware she had a part of her uniform on. A small hat. She smiled at everyone. "G-Good Morning!" She had just closed up her own shop and made her way to the bar. She had her own routine. Making sure all the equipment was cleaned and that everything else was stocked. Making a note to remind Fireside of what they needed.
