It was a distracted and fairly tired Juni who showed up at the Host Club before classes, to show Kyouya the ins and outs of the small minicomputer she'd built for the rose dispenser, and to discuss with him what hardware he might want to acquire for the dispensing of said rose petals. (The current hardware being somewhat unreliable due to an encounter with top-hat wearing rodentia.)

Her dark skin hid most of the obvious signs of fatigue, but her hair more than made up for that protective camoflauge, as it had coalesced back into its normal frizz, and Juni had, apparently in frustration, done it up in rather messy dreadlocks to just get it out of her way. Her attitude appeared to be, It's clean, good enough.

(( Do you mind if the cousins eventually get in on this discussion as well? We were hoping to do some manly man work with the installation. ))

"Coffee." Not a question, definitely an answer. Kyouya had a cup ready for her before she could even confirm, a subtle, unspoken You look like you need it. "I went through everything, and ran the tutorial, but I'm glad you stopped by, because I did have a few questions. And thank you again for all the work, even if it was a diversion from Akinora-sensei. How can I make it up to you?"

He'd spent some time quietly running the numbers in the background, and had a fair valuation of what he thought the work was worth. He was not certain if she'd permit him to pay her for it, but he was certainly intending to offer.

(('Course they're welcome. Yay cousins!))

Juni accepted the cup like Kyouya was handing her the holy grail. Or possibly manna from heaven. It was not entirely clear exactly how it vanished that quickly, either, as she didn't have it to her lips for more than a moment.

She rubbed her eyes. "Akinora-san," deliberate pause, "-sensei, is not the center of, of the universe. Though I, I am sure he thinks he is. And you are welcome. I, it was pleasure. Not work."

She gave him a crooked smile. "You could, ah, tell me you brewed a whole pot?" Another pause, and then she let it go. There was a favor of some kind Juni clearly wanted to ask, but she hadn't worked up the nerve yet. "What did I, ah, forget in the tutorial?"

(( Very good. -casts the Summon Cousins spell, which has cake as a component and a live baby bird as a focus- ))

Kyouya's lips tightened just slightly. "I find it troublesome that he is still bothering you," he said. "Surely he has more productive things to do with his time." Clearly, the Ootori boy was not impressed. "And yes, there is a whole pot." Her cup got refilled immediately, and he referred to his notebook to ensure he had all of the questions ready for her.

"It was really very clear for the most part. I did want to check to see if there was Bluetooth accessibility for uploads, as normally we try to keep most of the machinery hidden. I wanted to double-check on the file types the program can use for its reference material; is that limited to .jpg, .gif, and .png, or are there other file types it accepts? And was I correct in understanding that it can be connected to multiple dispensers at once?"

Those were the key points. The rest would likely have to wait until they were ready to install. He still needed to pull the old dispenser from the wall and see what had gotten into it, aside from a mouse. Perhaps just the mouse, after all.

Juni took a long swallow of coffee and grimaced. "Bothering. Eh. He has said he intends to fail me." She rubbed her eyes again. "I intend to make sure he, he has no reason to do so. I cannot, ah, stop him. But it will be his actions, not, not mine that determine my, ah, grade."

Pushing a couple of dreads back behind her ear, she considered the questions. "Bluetooth, yes, and a security code for it that can, can be changed. It is, is not the most secure communication, but it is the, the most common. I would, ah, suggest not j-peg, though I, ah did include it. The images are, are very lossy. TIFF or other, ah, lossless format would be better. It accepts most common forms. And there are, ah, leads for up to seven dispensers. That, that was the maximum number of, um, USB connectors I could fit on the, the board."

"He said that." A confirmation, not really a question -- he clearly believed her. There was a pause as Kyouya mulled this piece of information over. "Did you by chance get that on recording?" he asked, with studied neutrality.

"The most common and the easiest, most likely. At least we're all familiar with it. Passcodes are where?" Kyouya was quite satisfied with the rest. "TIFF is perfect; that is essentially raw data straight from the camerra. Simple is good." There might have been a subtle curve of a smile. "And I noticed you already uploaded some test data. Should I take it that I should leave your personal preferences as you've set them?"

Juni's smile was utterly without humor - more an angry baring of teeth than anything else - as she stared into the depths of her coffee cup. "The first time he, he said things, dismissed me. After, after I was put on, on academic probation, I went back to, to his office. To ask why. That time, I had my glasses, um, on. They were," she gestured to where they perched on her head, in their usual slightly askew position, "like that, not, not pointed at him - the video is, is mostly of the ceiling. But the audio, is there. And..." She looked up. "I have, I have no idea who...who to give it to. Who would believe me, and, and who would not be...be thought not impartial. Who he could not say, say I was just a, a favorite." Ah. There would be the favor she wasn't sure how to ask, asked obliquely. She set a USB stick down on the table next to her, and left it there.

And having asked her favor silently, Juni pushed the thought of Akinora-san away deliberately, to turn to more interesting topics. "I guess, I guess I forgot to put the, the password reset in the tutorial. Let me, ah, pull the screen up." And then a smile - a real one. "Perhaps is good, yes? Not so easy to, to lock you out. And, yes please, no, no roses for me. I, I am engineer, not a princess. I, ah, try to be, be self-rescuing. Though, with the club and, and pranks, I, ah, should not be surprised if, if sometime it, it rained coffee beans on me." She winked at Kyouya, and went to pull up the password reset screen for the bluetooth connector.

That angry baring of teeth was met with a calm smile and reflective lenses, and the USB stick quietly disappeared into the Ootori boy's pocket. It was a fool who failed to grasp the scope of his information network. But then, Akinora-sensei was rather a fool, in his estimation, and his son was not much better. Kyouya would debate later whether to go to the dean of students, or simply skirt the issue entirely and go directly to Suou-sama himself. Either way, he had no doubt he would be able to make an impression.

"That would be a waste of perfectly good coffee beans," he pointed out, with a return smile, as he watched over her shoulder. "It would be wrong to shower you with bad ones, after all. Perhaps we should have it rain quadratic equations and commented code instead."

[ Cousin summon, success! ... *cradles baby bird* ... ]

Mori opened the doors to the club room and held it for his cousin to allow him inside first. The smell of freshly brewed coffee greeted him first before he stepped inside and saw Juni and Kyouya seemingly working on something.

"Hey," he greeted the pair with a nod. A quiet glance to the mini-computer asked, 'what's that?'

The lolita walked into the room bearing his usual happy smile. When graced with the smell of coffee Honey couldn't help but suddenly be in the mood for a pumpkin spice lattee. "mmmm it smells good in here! Hi everyone!

He walked over to both Juni and Kyouya to see what they were doing. From the looks of it, it looked like some kind of science project of some sort. "Whatcha doin?" curiosity beamed in his eyes.

Juni's fingers slipped from the keys as she laughed at the thought of raining quadratic equations and code comments, hard enough to make her eyes water. She wiped at them after a few moments of it - laughter was good for the soul, and she'd had a trying week - but pulled herself together enough to wave to Mori and Honey as they came in. "Heh, heh - y bueno, y bueno - what else are, are bad coffee beans for, but for decoration? Pero sí, they, they would get everywhere, yes."

She gestured to the minicomputer. "Kyouya asked if, if I knew a way to make the roses, ah, trigger less. This is my answer."

Kyouya adjusted his glasses, though perhaps there was a trace of a smile that mirrored Juni's own. Better now that she was laughing, he decided. Far more productive than worried and unhappy.

"Well, less is one way of putting it. It's designed to recognize who comes in the door, and react appropriately," he explained, and gestured the two of them over to show them the database. "We can input the photographs of anyone who comes in, and set preferences for how often to produce the rose petals -- and what kind. It's actually designed to take up to seven dispensers." Kyouya was pleased, in an entirely professional manner; this was a functional, effective way to manage that knotty problem. "Miss Juni was very thorough."

As the purpose for the computer was explained to him and his cousin, Mori walked over to take a look at the database. He wasn't the best with computers, but this was easy to understand: no more pesky rose petal problem. Thank goodness.

"Ah," he said quietly, then looked to Juni with a slight smile. "Thank you for taking care of this for us, Juni-san." He nodded. The tall host would have to consider his own preferences, though supposed he'd just have dark blue petals fall; he thought back on the old dispenser dumping a ton of petals on him a few days ago and hoped very much that that wouldn't happen again.

"Do we still need a new dispenser?" he asked after a moment, glancing towards the club doors.

"I, I would think yes? It does seem...cantankerous." She stuck her tongue out at the offending piece of equipment and blew it a raspberry. Then she smiled, and patted the minicomputer's casing. "But this, it will work with the old one, if, if it does still work." Her third cup of coffee, plus Kyouya's jokes, appeared to be making the rather fried first year perk up. "Kyouya-san, you can set the, the bluetooth code now. I will have a, a better tutorial program to install, once finals are, are over, to tell how to reset it. OS revision 1.1." She apparently thought that last was very funny, for some reason.

"I would agree, we probably do need a new one, but we won't know until we dig it out of the wall to really check." A few taps of the keyboard, and Kyouya reset the password, making a mental note of it. He'd give it to the others later.

"Shall we have a look and see what's going on in there?" he asked the others. "And Juni-san, did you have any hardware recommendations on this front? After all, if we have the option for multiple dispensers, we might as well use them, assuming we can conceal them sufficiently."
