Portfolio Madness Event

Hey everyone!

Has it been a long time since you last upgraded your portfolio?
....
Are you a graduating or soon to be student who needs to put together a portfolio?

Than this event is for you!!!

Starting July 1st to August 31st the guild will be hosting a new event called Portfolio Madness. It consist of creating new pieces every week to add, or help get started your portfolio. Guild members will be encouraged to give feedback/constructive criticism on your work to help improve your current pieces and build a stronger portfolio.

How it works
-Every Saturday members who are interested in participating will post their pics
-Guild members will be asked to quote the user name of the participant and critic their submission. (Please give constructive critism)

-The fallowing week, members are allowed to either re-work their previous submission with the new critics in mind, or submit a new piece.
-At the end of the event, participants who did the whole event should have in between 4-9 new pieces to add to their portfolio, or at least a selection of new pieces to choose from.

Extra information :
- The event is open to all mediums (artistic, photography, design, interface layout, ect)
- The event is for fun and to help people get started, their is no prize money for the completion of this event, so members are not required to do the whole event from start to finish (not obligated to start the event at a specific time. Not obligated to post every week)
- All members are encouraged to help critic everyone's work in a constructive manner. Even if you only check out the guild from time to time, feel free to send any helpful feedback you can : )

Linkedin (this isn't a place to create a portfolio, but more of a professional network, and place to present your resume. This site is used by many professionals and can be very useful for keeping in touch with other professional or coworkers in your field. Its also largely used by recruiting agencies to find ideal candidates for job openings, so its definitely something every professional should to keep up to date.)

Really looking forward to this! I need to dedicate more time to improvement and focusing on what I want to be better at. I'm not sure if I want to devote all my time to illustration/concepts or 3d modeling that I've been working on again lately...or both? I'm not sure but I love this idea!

This is a wonderful idea XD I've always wanted to join events similiar to this (like 100 day drawing events) but I never have the extra incentive to, now I think I'll totally do it! I'm in :3 heart

Another site you could maybe add to the list of online portfolio websites would be Anipan.com. It is used mostly by manga and anime artists but all styles are welcome there.

The event is open now, and you know what XD I may participate as well this time...god knows I'm getting sloppy, its been to looooonnnng time since I've worked on an art piece. Probably due for getting my butt kicked! lol

@Amandelie : I think both are an excellent idea! I also have a background in 3D so maybe I can offer up some suggestions if ever you decide to post one. : )
