[ Character Sheets ]
[ Premise/Foreword ]
Over the past few months it has become well known that farms and villages to the west have been losing livestock during the night. However, during the past week ten children have gone missing, along with a few farmers and merchant traders. It is obvious some struggle has occurred, and often blood is found at the scene of the crime. No bodies are left though, and trackers have only managed to follow to the shores of Seraphine Lake. Whatever large quadruped has began hunting so far east of the forests and mountains, its beginning to feast more frequently.
The Mayor of Ballards Bluff has put up signs all around town. There is a bounty on the creatures head.
Single bounty hunters have ventured into the forests trying to kill the beast, but none have returned. The Mayor is now recruiting a team capable of slaying the beast and bringing it in.
[ Setting Information/Background ]
Ballards Bluff is a coastal city looking out over the Aldergo Ocean, and for centuries it has been a stronghold for the region. Known as Adde, the small country is known for lush fertile soils, and salty coastlines. To the north are Orc Lands, and often raiding parties penetrate Adde to take prisoners and livestock. It was originally thought that Orcs had been responsible for the missing people and animals, but evidence has ruled them out.
To the west are the Adeon Mountains, large peaks of snow covered granite form an impenetrable shield separating Adde from its enemies further west.
[ Game Introduction/Plot ]
You have all gathered in the Town Hall for a meeting, and the Mayor has chosen to speak to all of you together. Having submitted forms, and those forms having been reviewed, you were picked from a large pool of applicants.

Hi all!
I've been playing games here for a while, and tried my hand at DMing when I was still pretty new. But now I would like to run a game so the other DM's can have some sweet relief, and so I can see if my mind is creative enough to keep you all entertained.
The Hunt is a general game, as its title suggest and the information provided leads you to believe, your party is getting hired to hunt down a Beast. But! And keep reading because this is not simply about finding some brute who's been killing livestock. It's about rescuing those poor dear little children (yes, as you will quickly learn they are still alive), possibly finding glory (or more glory if you already are gloriously well known), and more importantly TREASURE along the way.
We all love treasure, and I'm a big believer on occasionally stumbling across some goodies.
If not then a sizable reward of 3000 gold pieces, or 500gp each if all of you survive, should help. Plus lots of chances to earn more XP. I have started you all at level 5, hopefully giving you enough room to become well enough known in the city to have heard of each other.
Unless you don't want people knowing who you are.
When you write up a background, include a snippet of information that other people will know about you. Perhaps its something as simple as you live within the upper level of the city, and as a noble born boy you seek adventure and escape from boring classroom teachings, everyone knows of you (or at least your alias) because you frequent the tavern and women of the nights often. You tell wonderful stories of imagination and creativity, and this is why people remember who you are.
Then there are soldiers returned from Orc Lands...a Sergeant maybe.
A powerful city healer. A muse. A graceful palace dancer who is actually an assassin. Who knows!

Rerolling those 1s
6, 3, 4, 3 = 13 2, 3, 6, 6 = 15 6, 4, 4, 3 = 14 1, 2, 6, 4 = 12 6, 5, 3, 3 = 14 5, 2, 2, 2 = 9
Ugh, not great but I've had worse. ...I think.
Anywho, I'll poke around a bit and see what I can manage with this. When you say ANY race allowed, do you mean ANY, or any of the standard races?
