So I sent one of my players into a Panic Attack today.
He had walked up to a guard and said that he made pots and pans, could cook, and wants to worship the god of chaos and madness. I captured him, And lock him in high security in the Capital City know for Defense. He his bound, and held for four weeks, two weeks in he is told he is to be executed. I march him out to the grounds, lock him in socks for two hours to be made fun of, and cook due to the fact he has a poor to direct sunlight. He was then set free and locked away again.
We had to stop there, he was so freaked out he was just out of it.

Well maybe it's because you did it to the player and not his character.

I'd be freaked out too.
Lockable socks do NOT sound comfortable, let alone being stuck in them for hours.

Okay, he did ask for it with the whole "God of Chaos and Madness" thing, but that's when you lock him up, and then get a wizard to do a psychological evaluation on the guy, and pronounce him "too nuts to be executed".
