well if you want the head on the shoulder you might want to have it slumped forward instead of back in the air. also the neck should be attached further back on the skull. If you feel your own head, the chin juts out quite a bit more than the back of your head from the neck.

hmm I'm not sure what the pose is seposed to be for the second character, its a little hard to read at the present moment. And while I don't have to the time to do some red lines for you, I founds some good references on google based off the description you gave : )

the classic man helping fainted woman (in my opinion if your looking for something more sensual you should look more at pics like this and change the body types, to be a guy. Just because I think the posing fits more with what your looking for, based off your original pose)
