Im so upset with how the movie came out. they cut out so many parts! and the cornucopia was so disappointing. I personally think that the book was so much better. What do you guys think about it?

I thought the movie was pretty good. Yea I did wish some parts they didn't cut out. But I was mostly disappointed in how the mutts turned out. I mean weren't they suppose to be like mutations and look like the fallen tributes?

The cornucopia bloodbath had to move around alot to have it be a PG-13 film cause if they didn't do that then it would be rated R cause of most on the deaths and most teenagers wouldn't be able to even see it at all.

Oh, I am gonna ramble on about how bad the movie was compared to the books. First of all, the Mockingjay pin. Seriously? Because now in Catching Fire the new director will have to incorperate it being Maysilee's (Madge's aunt) somehow. Madge was wearing it when Katniss and Gale gave her the strawberries and she gave it to Katniss later. They didn't even mention Madge or Mayor Undersee. And it's just like Gary Ross to do that, screw something up then leave it for another guy to fix. Second of all, Avox Avox Avox! Katniss mentions that she and Gale could get their tongues cut off for running away, but no further explaination of Avox. I don't think they even said the word AVOX once in the whole film. Third, why couldn't she have told Prim where she was going in the morning? Prim isn't a helpless two year old that's gonna blurt out that Katniss and Gale hunt. Fourth, Plutarch Heavensbee wasn't even thought of in the movie. He was the guy that fell into the punch bowl inb the book, but he will be in the next movie. They've already asked someone to play him. Fifth, when Rue was killed District 11 did not start the riot, District 8 did. Sixth, when Katniss went to the feast, she had to knock Peeta out first with the medication Haymitch and sponsors sent. Which brings me to when Clove was killed at the feast. Thresh did not beat her against the cornucopia he crushed her skull with a rock. And finally, the mutts. Katniss saw one of the mutts and it looked like Rue, then another looked like Clove, Thresh, etc. And last, Cato was dragged into the cornucopia by the Mutts, and Katniss leaned over the side to kill him. I know not all of this stuff could be added but I really wish they would have got the Mockingjay pin and muttations correct. Honestly, I'm glad Gary Ross is leaving the set, and I hope Francis Lawrence will do a better job directing.

Well, it wasn't Gary Ross's fault the movie came out so unlike the book. He was just following the producers orders. The part that just really killed me was the pin. Definetly the pin.

Now they need to fill in the plot hole for Madge, probably just having it lying around in her house.

I really think that the movie could've been better with a narrative voice over thing, like in Avatar, where you could hear Jake Sully's voice talk over the image on the screen.

I thought that the movie was nicely made. I mean, of course, they did take out some things, but that was for the sake of movie time, so I understand that. Plus, they rearranged things, again for the time of the movie. But I think the movie and the book are both equal to me. 3nodding

This is all of what I have to say about the movie. While I did enjoy it to a point, I was so disappointed in what they left out and what they changed that I couldn't get passed all those mishaps and enjoy the movie completely. I think the pin and the Muttations is also my biggest disappointment in this movie. They didn't even mention Madge or the Mayor, so then how will they explain that later on? Or will they just ignore that whole part of the movie all together? What was the point of changing that in the first place I wonder, why did they think that having Prim give her the pin was better? Bah. After the movie I ended up telling my boyfriend how the story should have been and he thought it would have been better that way. I dislike that they changed so much. I will still watch the other movies of course, and I hope that they will be much better.

It haas been said that Madge will not play a part in any of the movies. The last book will be a two part movie(idk how they are going to split that honestly): Mockingjay Part One and Mockingjay Part Two. (They were very creative with the subtitles, don't ya think?)
I've been told by many people that Francis Lawrence is a wonderful director, fingers crossed they're telling the truth. SO hopefully the next 3 movies will be better.

Yeah I heard about the split third movie, which I also don't see how that can be done considering the third book isn't that big. I understood the final HP movie being split considering all the information needed. I hope the new director does a better job, the Hunger Games is an excellent series and I want the movies to do it justice. smile

I liked the book so much better than the movie! I wish the movie had been a half hour longer so that they could have captured more detail. The movie just couldn't compare to the book.

That's what I have to say on the subject.
