Anything that takes time from God is idolatry.
Not saying everything is bad now, just saying be careful how you use your time.

Yup but in other words hehe.
I had a problem with a video game recently and the Lord revealed me.
So i had to give it up. I just think that right now i dont want to lose anymore time, and spent as much as i can with the Lord.

You can enjoy them, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that we should "love" them; if you find yourself "obsessing" over it, that smells like trouble. And really, we should spend more time doing godly things (edifying each other, serving humankind, praising YHWH, studying/meditating on his word, spending time with him in prayer, making & maintaining the peace, etc...), than on the worldly; we can engage in games and watch TV/movies though.

Personally, I've given up a lot of TV shows because they're just overwhelmingly sinful. Certain shows just want their audience feeling lustful, angry or terrified; they glorify lying, murder and magic as if it's the right/fun/exciting thing to do. I would feel so "drained" after watching these shows that I use to enjoy. Each character was choosing to do wrong (now that I recognized what wrong was) and I would be thinking to myself "if only you knew so-and-so command, you wouldn't be suffering right now, you could've avoided all that misery". Episode after episode their behavior and circumstances just got worse, so I decided not to sit through their torture anymore and gave it up.

Even though I wasn't "bowing down" to these shows in the sense of molding my beliefs and morality according to their ideals, I could spend 5+ hours on entertainment every day, whereas I only dedicated an hour (and sometimes not even the full hour) to godly things (to study/read the bible, to pray, or go help someone in need). Now it's the total opposite, I can easily spend 5 hours straight just studying biblical things and I can go days without playing a game. Honestly, I don't even enjoy those games anymore; I can only tolerate casual FB games that literally take up 5 minutes of my time lol.

Quote:
1 John 2:15

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I don't love entertainment anymore like I use to; my TV isn't even connected right now and I uninstalled games that I use to spend whole days playing. YHWH is what's on my mind most of the time, whereas before I'd be thinking about fictional characters and their fictional worlds, to the point that I wanted to live in their world.

This is the best answer to the question of the OP. You can't be a christian and love that stuff (which is blatant authoritarianism, really).
