Jaft I was into photography for awhile. surprised Are you thinking of doing something Youtube series related? A mini-series? :O Potentially. I want to try doing a short film first, see how that goes. 3nodding

Some friends and I are planning on doing some comedy sketch videos akin to LoadingReadyRun.com
Literally NONE of us have any experience in this s**t. I can edit video to some degree and I have some editing software, but we have no idea what kind of equipment we'd need. Any suggestions?

Literally NONE of us have any experience in this s**t. I can edit video to some degree and I have some editing software, but we have no idea what kind of equipment we'd need. Any suggestions? Depends on your software, but most editing programs, even iMovie are pretty good for basic youtube videos. Camera wise anything will do. Even camera phones have great quality these days. The major draw back with those is of course needing to record sound seperately, and the image stabilisation sucks. The one thing you probably want though is a camera that has an external mic input so you can use and external mic to capture better sound. Sound is extremely important and onboard mic just do not do the trick at all. You can here the camera man blowing his nose louder than the actor. If there is anything specific yo'd like advice with Bass let me know smile

Yeah, the guy Andy lives with has a pretty decent looking camera so we're gonna see if we can borrow that. I wanna have a good look at it, just to see what it's like. It's probably got an external mic port on it.
I have Adobe Premier Pro, because my college tutor... gave it to me. Yes.

I've also been doing some motion picture type work for nearly a year since I've been in the Navy. My main focus has been photography however, but I've been extensively trained on videojournalism style of shooting/editing.
I've even been in a newscast that we put out for the ship bi-weekly.
