hey guys so I need an opinion before I do something. So (for those of you who don't play horn) a double french horn consists of b flat slides and f slides. generally the b flat side is used in the upper register of the instrument and sometimes you don't even need to use the f side. Sometimes in really consistently high passages its easier to play high if I take out the f slides of the horn and that way there's less tubing to blow through. I was wondering if it would be considered "cheating" to take out the f horn slides for a high excerpt I need to record for a prescreening cd. It doesn't make it much easier to play, but it makes my accuracy better on high c's. A moral part of me feels like i'm taking the easy way out and cutting corners I shouldn't cut..... do you think I should do it?
