Hello, I am Das Tor, also known as Kai. I am 26 years of age, genderfluid (biologically female), finally employed, and soon to be promoted at my job. I'm currently dating a wonderful girl who accepts everything about me, and am staying monogamous for the moment. The relationship may open if we find someone else that catches our hearts. Regarding my genderfluid-ness and pronouns...I answer to male or female pronouns, and female is the default since it's not easy to tell my gender at the moment online unless I tell you.
I follow the philosophy of 'Love as thou wilt'. I don't believe love has boundaries, so long as it's between two or more consenting people who are mature enough to make their own decisions. Though I grew up with and was raised on the idea itself, I couldn't put words to it until my mother introduced me to the works of Jacqueline Carey and her Terre d'Ange books. My mother herself was poly, and I've had friends that were poly. I could see myself being in a polyamorous relationship if the right people were involved.
I am VERY interested in the gothic subculture, gothloli and waloli fashion, and Steampunk. I'm also a fan of Stargate, Star Trek, and Star Trek, and I've a heavy interest in anime and manga, however I'm VERY picky with what I read and watch. One of my favorites, and will forever be, is Gundam Wing. Books are also a favored thing, and I grew up surrounded by them. Fantasy and sci-fi with a touch of fantasy tend to be my favorite genres. I love video games, especially the Megaman X series, Okami, and Harvest Moon. And I've been dragged into the chaos of Homestuck. I was almost chased off by some of the...less savory fans, but I don't regret finally reading it. I'm also a Broto. >.> Check out the Protomen. They. Are. Awesome.
I draw a lot, and love writing, though I often struggle with finishing what I start. I'll forever be my worst critic, but that only helps me grow. I used to be active in the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Washington Civil War Association, but time and money have forced me out of those for the moment. When I have the time and money, I love rock climbing on indoor walls. I don't have the confidence or equipment yet to tackle an actual rock face.
I'm working on piecing my life back together after a house fire about five years ago that destroyed most of my belongings, made the house unlivable, and took my mother from me. (My Gaia name is actually a tribute to her, via a song done by the band Faun.) I still struggle with bouts of depression and survivor's guilt, but I've got a second-family, friends, and my girlfriend, to help me when I stumble. My life is slowly beginning to look up.
I currently live with my girlfriend, her parents, her grandmother (who has been in and out of the hospital a lot lately), one cat, and four dogs. The cat is mine, a four+ year old orange tabby named Casanova...though he's more often called Cassy or Dumb-butt/Dumbnuts/Derpface. He's sweet, but he's not the brightest crayon in the box. But he's my baby, and has made dark days seem brighter on numerous occasions.
I do have a deviantArt and a tumblr, for anyone interested.

Welcome to the guild, Kai! If there's anything I can help you with, feel free to PM or quote me to snag my attention. I'm usually on at night and early mornings when I'm not at work.

Aaaaaaand my girlfriend's ID has gone missing while she's out of state. >.<; If she can't find it, she's getting a new one. Which means I have to deal with her old housemates and then mailing it to her.

So presents have been opened, and a Merry Christmas was had. Even got to do some gifting through baked goods and personal computer BGs.
@.x; And I apparently made out like a bandit. New tablet is top on the list. >w<

About...five days. Maybe a week if she gets stuck in Dallas. (She's flying standby.) >.<; It's even worse because there's stuff I have to talk to her about, but it's the kind of stuff best discussed face-to-face.

Oof. >.>; Yeah....this one's going to be...interesting. Since we have a friend who is interested in both of us (one I'd almost started something with a while ago, but had been too scared to speak up). My girl's still getting used to the idea of polyamory, and the fact it does NOT mean cheating at all. (And I'm going to be making it VERY abundantly clear to her that I still love her, that love hasn't weakened.)
