Depending on the monsters. However, I've been discussing with a number of people how mermaids are just about as good as dolphins, are far cheaper than dolphins, and live so much longer than dolphins, but the problem is that mermaid tanks don't get bumps!

I have 3 full tanks myself, and almost every game I manage to catch, I can get between 5 and 20+ players, but I'll be the only one bumping! First, that shows that the people playing are just being selfish, considering I plaster my bump links everywhere my tank goes, and they're not willing to spend 10 seconds to bump the tank. They spent 60 seconds grabbing some free gold, but wont spend an extra few to thank me for spending my money on the fish by bumping the thread.

A couple other guild owners and I have also noticed that the guild mules get quoted around 75% in dolphin threads, and then the remainder is split up among all the other sections.

In the following week I'll be making guild announcements with specific information proving just how worthwhile mermaids are to play, and to own. Yes monster/mixed tanks are also under-appreciated, however a lot of those tanks don't pay out the same. I may host a Monster/Mixed week in the future, but for now, we can only promote one fish at a time.

Unfortunately that's the way it is, which is why a couple other guild owners and myself have been discussing how we should go about promoting these under-appreciated tanks.

I know in the past, dolphins were the prime fish to own, so people are just in that mindset that they're the best. They might have near to a 100% trigger, but the gold they drop is easily less than a Memphis.

Just for argument's sake, a dolphin drops 4 regular gold coins and one red coin in a 5 drop rotation. You'll usually get approximately 5 or 6 red drops in an average game, meaning the gold is dropped every 2 seconds or so.

1x4 = 4 gold
4x1 = 4 gold.
Making ~8 gold per 10 seconds.

A glowing memphis drops green gold every drop, with a pretty common gold drop with it, at about the same rate as a dolphin. That's 10g every 10 seconds, plus the regular gold it drops as well.

The only reason dolphins are assumed to be "better" than Memphis, is that they're higher trigger. But a game of 8-10 Memphis, will get you an equal or better score (with the same power-up/downs) as a full Dolphin tank. So why are the mermaids so disliked? It doesn't make any sense.

its problee like you said. even my monsters fish and and memphis mermaid are still in the same class of average fishies yet people like mermaids more than mine. mine have higher trigger rate of 7-15, but drop slightly less than mermaids v.v

they problee think that, the more expensive the fish. the better it is lol but more importantly. we need to raise bump awareness! wen people dont bump after playing its like theyre stealing the money we worked hard on to buy the fish. i do not see why they cant use the autobump if they dont want to type in reply box. its there for a reason :T

I agree with you. We make it plenty easy to bump after grabbing. When I go grabbing, as long as I have time, I'll bump first, play the game, and then bump afterwards. It's even easier when you just have to click the autobump link. I try to bump everyone's tank at least once, usually twice, and occasionally more.

I also agree that people are assuming that more expensive fish are better. Now, I'll admit that a full tank of Airsharks will get you anywhere from 800-1200 easily, but the tank owners are paying approximately 7 million gold for those fish... A mermaid tank might make half that per game, but they last 32 weeks longer, and cost under 1.7m for a full tank. Not to mention they can even be bought with gaia cash, meaning every 8 days you can buy a new fish by making sure you grab the Gaia Cash Tree every day.

Just a little math I did for a tank with full memphis mermaids. I am averaging around 30k a day.

Remember this is if you got 50k a day from your tank. I'm not guaranteeing you will make this profit.
50,000k * 7days = 350,000k in a week.
350,000k * 4 weeks = 1,400,000mil in a month.
1,400,000 * 10 months = 14,000,000mil in 10months.

ooh.. i haven;t been doing the math.. and interesting so by the end of ten months i should probably get this. smile btw I've been bumping your glows wink

so anyways.. I wanted to share. Even though my tank gets plays for lets say. 55 players a day to 80+ players a day. I get only 40-60k a day from the tank. So maybe there is also a limit to gold tank earning potential? I;m not sure yet though. I've been grafting my earning so far, my tank is already 5week 3 days old yeah XD

been reading.. and yes I have to agree.. when I;m not online I usually don't get my tank players to a decent amount due to my glow thread not being bumped up. DX so sad when this happens. And I get a decent amount only when I bump them myself. DX gah people dont even click my autobump dang it, maybe i should name my autobump with something more interesting like.. free coffee or something.. haha XD

I've been tipping your bumps and thank you for bumping me up and helping out.

Yeah see I get around an average of 25k a day because one day it will be crazy and have like 80 players and earn 45k and then another day it will be like 20 players and only 30k. So it's up and down for me, but if you were getting around that much a day then yeah you would be making a fortune at the end of the lifespan of the mermaids, but could you really spend 10months without spending any gold. Alot of us couldn't since they are constantly releasing items and we all have our desires for items. So mainly in a month's time is more of the realistic for everyone to see how much they could be making.

You don't have to tip me. I just love to help out co tank owners. smile And yeah I've not been able to save up the gold I earn. I've actually used it up to buy stuff around gaia. DX gah I really need to save up. Maybe I'll get a mule account for that. That way I'd not be able to use the money. o 3o

Yes, but the thing is you can always trade the gold unless you can stop yourself from doing that. Ha ha.

I don't have to tip, but I love to say thanks to all who come and bump it up because even with all the bumping you and this one girl are doing it helps. Wish more people would play the tank though because it's like we struggle to get full plays. This last one barely reached 10 players. Oh well. Things like that make me wonder if I should just work on getting dolphins instead. I do know that my other mermaid tanks when they have run there course I will not be replacing them. Just because they will be replaced with dolphins.

personally I like the mermaids way more than the dolphins.. I mean seriously mermaids.. this are mermaids we're talking about.. > w <
but oh well I've been trying to buy better fish too.. the only thing that's hard in owning a tank, for me, is to always keep your eyes peeled for the glows. and be ready to advertise it. We have the same dilemma, I've recently been barely getting players in my tank. In a glow I'd usually get an average of 10 - 15 players that if I'm lucky enough.

Yeah I never seem to be online when the glow times are about. Sometimes I am on a few times.

Although I agree I love mermaids. Now if only I could date them and they had the right equipment oh wow that would be perfect.
