With all my fury, every inch of pain This violent anger tearing us away Hate, destruction, human consumption Creates division, blinded in visionor any surgery in your throat.. TRUST ME after about a week of no/soft food... you will REALLY appreciate real food...
I mean, I've been DYING for food the past week... and now that I'm healed enough to have it, I'M SO EFFING HAPPY!!! *eye twitch*
It even got to a point, I REALLY don't want popcicles or fudgcicles.... not for about a month .____. cause that was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for about four days... I was starving through the night, but I didn't wanna stuff myself with sugar ice... for one thing, i wanted to avoid swallowing as much as i could, and i didn't want to make myself fatter than i am... stressed
My point, you should appreciate as much food as you get, cause it might be gone one day... scream
Mandy... OUT!! Raging like the wave, crashing to its place Such violent delights have violent ends So furiously, my insanity, trapped in vanity Scrounged in desire, raging like a fire

I appreciate your pain. Having a tonsillectomy is not fun. I've been very fortunate not to have had one.
However, I HAVE had several sore throats (strep variety) and can appreciate the pain you've endured.
I pray you recover quickly.

With all my fury, every inch of pain This violent anger tearing us away Hate, destruction, human consumption Creates division, blinded in visionI've had that too... Plus Tonsillitis, and I've had strep throat like 3 times... then this other time i had swollen glands... all pretty much the same... but my main reason to get them out was to get rid of my sleep apnea... :/ Raging like the wave, crashing to its place Such violent delights have violent ends So furiously, my insanity, trapped in vanity Scrounged in desire, raging like a fire

Nissa With all my fury, every inch of pain This violent anger tearing us away Hate, destruction, human consumption Creates division, blinded in visionYou know, it's not that bad until you wake up rofl And then all you can have is popcicles, pain meds, and water... if you want, other drinks that don't have citric acids, fizz, or anything that can burn your throat, plus dairy can make you sick.. (I drank a quarter of a milkshake and ended up feeling really crappy the rest of the night..)
But trust me, strep throat hurts, I've had it 3 times, tonsillitis once, and swollen glands once... all feel sorta the same, but different things happen.. BUT the first 3-4 days after surgery is way beyond that pain... at least for me, everyone has different pain tolerances, but that's just me... xD
And I'm pretty much healed.. like about 99.8% and the only time i have pain is if i eat something that irritates it, or if i yawn, cough, or sneeze... but thanks anyway ^^ c: Raging like the wave, crashing to its place Such violent delights have violent ends So furiously, my insanity, trapped in vanity Scrounged in desire, raging like a fire

Damn, dude. I had a kidney stone that I eventually needed surgery for about two years ago, but because I was in so much pain, pretty much the only thing I could keep down was chicken noodle soup. It was all I could eat for three weeks straight. I still can't look at it without wanting to throw something. Still can't drink soda, though. I miss soda.

I had that surgery when I was eight. Didn't like the pain and the frustrating fact I could barely talk. But I remember I loved the part where I didn't have to go to school and eat posicles and ice cream, while watching cartoons. xp (There's always a catch!) xd

cєℓєsтιαℓ ғιʀєғℓιєs:
My boyfriend had a tonsillectomy, also for sleep apnea. Watching him go through that pain was difficult, but I can't imagine how much more difficult it must have been for him. I've had strep throat, which sucked, but I doubt it was as bad as that. He snuck a few extra pain pills while I was in the kitchen because it hurt so bad. I had to take them with me from then on, because I didn't want him to OD. It's not like he took a lot, but we were already going on the maximum dosage.
For him, it didn't hurt at all on the first day. Maybe they gave him stronger pain medicine in the hospital than he could have at home, haha. It then went from decent to bad to worse, and stayed like that for a few days until it started going away. I was happy when he started eating more normal food, because I was pretty much on the same diet while I was taking care of him. xd
It was sooo worth it though. I didn't have to sleep on the couch anymore (his snoring sounded like rocketships blasting off) and he gets much better sleep. Those suckers were so huge, his doctor was surprised he could even breathe during the day.

I've had that lovely experience of having my tonsils removes when I was eleven. The pain lasted for about a week, and to add to everything, it was just after my birthday. Would I say it's the worst pain in the world? No, however at the time yeah I was eleven, and anything like that to me was hell. For me, who absolutely loves food, that was the worst part of the whole thing. I'm serious, it did top pain x.x
I'm expecting a wisdom teeth extraction sometime this year, and I heard that's even worse.
One of my friends just had this procedure as well, and I gave her a bunch of advice. Unfortunately there were a bunch of complications from the start, and there were a bunch of days (this started days after the surgery) where her throat was bleeding and had to spend some extra time at the hospital.

Oh gawd. I've never had my tonsils removed. No reason serious enough, but alas, I know the pain of wisdom teeth removal. It's like you never. Stop. Bleeding.
Then I had this huge bout of paranoia because the creamed corn I was eating got stuck in the holes and we had to spend a half an hour with tweezers getting it all out so there wouldn't be a nasty jaw infection.
Pain meds are also hilarious, holy crap those'll knock you out.
