So, with everything that has been coming out, what are your opinions on Sony's line up so far?

Although there has been some jokes about the Vita's name, I am not so worried about that. The price points were roughly where I had guessed they would be and the games are lookin great!

Sony came in 2nd IMO. With Nintendo being 1st and MS 3rd (Not bad but no wow like the others).

I'm not a fan of the name vita and I'm baffled to why they didn't stick with PSP2. To cliche for Sony?

So far though the Vita is off to a great start! It's $250 which will put it head to head with the 3DS price. Still not getting the point of the 3G model but whatever.

The Vita can do a lot for Sony and I'm pretty sure they can do a Wii U with it. Considering Wii U is a lot like Remote Play and the controller and the Vita have a lot in common. Sony should be able to do something with it if they haven't already.

I am not sure who came out on top but from what I saw of Nintendo, it did not really appeal to me, besides, they did cheat a bit, apparently some of the HD footage they used for the Wii U, was actually PS3 and 360 game play. I am not sold on the hand held controller either... it seems a bit big, for both in house and on the go game play.

As for Sony, I will likely refer to the Vita as PSV, which sounds much nicer biggrin

Msoft seemed to be lacking this year, yes they had some good games to show case but MANY of them were already known, atleast the big ones were.

I think I wouldn't mind the PSV at all but since the went PSP Go with the last handheld (Which failed for not being able to play usd or even download some of the games), they had to come up with something else. Vita reminds me of pita which makes me a bit hungry lol. Uncharted 3 look great, but not many new games, which was a bit of a disappointment for me. I figure Nintendo would do it this year and it did. I'm just not interested in kiddy systems though... Its also too big.
I heard Micro$oft went overboard with their Kinect games at E3 which was a down fall.

I think Msoft went overboard because they are looking at the numbers and it seems to have sold units with the Wii, but I think they need to also concider just how many of those are sitting collecting dust and not actually making Nintendo further money. I still think its a bit foolish to think motion control is the near-future, I think its coming but its not near.

I don't think anyone really mentioned much about big titles they held back, MOST of the titles people were after were well known about, Skyrim, ME3, Gears 3, etc.

Most of the companies do this. It's like when MS had those tower MACs playing 360 games back at like E3 05, or how Sony likes showing pre renders and claims them to be real time. Only difference is Nintendo actually admitted to it.

I was reading on that the resolution of the Wii U controller is WVGA. Which would explain A LOT. Like low latency and all that jazz. REALLY disappointing that it isn't higher.

I'm still getting used to it. Whenever I see Vita I think Vista. PSV sounds like a file extension.

There weren't any games that interested me. There hasn't been any in a while TBH. I was only interested in the hardware anyways. Most of the games they show are pretty generic anyways.

PS Go was still part of the PSP family. It was far from being it's own Dependant system. The issues that came from the Go was when it came out. GO came deep in the PSP life and you can't expect every game to go digital. Most of the publishers would bother with it. Vita shouldn't have that issue if Sony just requires the companies to supply a digital copy of the game.

I'm not a huge fan of the proprietary route Sony is going with the Vita. Proprietary ports and medias. I think they even have the memory cards some special crap. Just make it M2 or MicroSD. It would be MUCH EASIER. Cause you know they over price the hell out of anything proprietary.

Most of the Wiis collecting dust are from a certain demographic. The target demographic MS is aiming for are still using Kinect (as well as Wii). That's families and that area. The Wii/DS are still doing nicely with these guys and that's all MS cares about. If they get some other gamers then it's a perk.

Motion gaming needed to come out when it does and it's great that it's being used now. It allows it to grow up and get out of this rough spot. The main issue with motion controls is that depending on what you're talking about (Kinect is different from Move/Wii) different genres apply to it.

E3 any more rarely shows off new stuff. You might get one or two new titles, but for the most part it's showing off stuff in greater detail. Playable demos, release dates, etc.

I just pre-ordered a PSV actually, the EB where I live has already had 4 pre-orders for it before me.

I was actually talking with the manager at the EB (he has been lucky enough to goto an E3 before) and he personally believes the lack of new, major titles at E3 has more to do with the ton of other gaming shows that have sprung up over the last while. He is right, it used to only be about 3 or so shows a year, now there is a ton of them.

Lucky! I hope I can get one! I'm wondering how it's launch day will fair. The 3DS when it launched here in the USA DID NOT SELL OUT! At least around me and online. You could easily walk into a Best Buy, GameStop, or go online to Amazon.com and purchase one on launch day.

Not sure if it was the price or what.

I REALLY want to stand in line on a launch day. I stood in line for a Wii (not launch day but like less then 2 months after launch) and I had a blast. Realy want to do that on a actual launch day. 3DS would have been cool to do it but didn't have the money.

This is the first time the EB's here have let me pre-order a system before, so I am happy. This way I wont need to take time off work and I will be able to just stop in biggrin The price on the 3DS could have hurt it, I dont think anyone expects PSV to be cheap, but usually a DS was not overly expensive. Also the 3d was a bit of a gimic once people found out you could only use it for so many hours at a time and kids could not use it at all.

I've never pre ordered hardware before.

I've tried the 3DS on different occasions with 3 different games. I'm still blaming the hardware being tied down and I'm unable to find that "sweet spot". But I haven't really seen a game that really uses the 3D well.

This is the first time I will have pre-ordered Hardware, normally I wait a few months, picked up a PS3 on a whim in the Jan right after its release.

I think that 3D is more or less gimic based, and dont put much stock in the motion controls either, although I do have a MOVE for my PS3, its fun but not something I use all the time (used it for Killzone 3). For mainstream gaming, I think BOTH are a fair ways off from being used.

I try to get hardware ASAP but I end up not using it for a long time.

I still want to hold reserve till I can have my own or use someone else's. I'm desperately wanting DOA biggrin on it.

Most of the time for me its because I never had the money available to get them right away.

I am not even sure what most of the launch titles are expected to be LOL

They have some you can pre-order, including an Uncharted game.
