May the 4th be with you! How will YOU celebrate? I've got some local friends in the 501st...I'm actually hoping to get a costume put together some day to march as one of the Emperors Royal Guards (they need some color in the local crew)

It didn't faze me. Though my Husbie should be disappointed in himself, I'll let him slide for working everyday since Easter.
Live Long and Prosper.

I've got heart for the Trekkies too wink it's all good. I never saw much point in the whole Trek/Wars debate (I'd happily go to a con wearing the redshirt and fake many horrible deaths) *edit* Two series I'd wear the RED for, a color I generally don't like...hmmm

Happy belated Star Wars day. I am much more of a Trek-gal myself, but I have to say the 501st are just one of the most phenomenal groups out there <3 Not saying I'm one of those Trekkies who is like "eeww star wars" I love them both.

But we enjoy fighting over it, and watching Fanboys. Han Solo is a b!tch

Woot Woot! I'm actually costuming as a Trill soonish at an upcoming con. I'm so excited, SO MANY SPOTS!! But come to think of it I've never actually met a real Trekkie or even just casual fan who has been like 'ew star wars'. How did this stereotype of the waring shows/movies come about anyway? It's silly.

Guess: it probably started at a convention with "My sci-fi is better than yours because of _____" and slowly escalated. Possibly some irl trolling or flaming that got etched into collective memory. Researched: The argument seems to have hit the net in the 90's and flared up around the release of Episode One, but that doesn't mean it wasn't going on before hand. To you youngsters, internet usage wasn't very widespread prior to the nineties.

To you youngsters, internet usage wasn't very widespread prior to the nineties. I remember hating computers because they always seemed broke and you couldn't do much on them and my parents were always too busy fixing them to play. {Now really, but that's how I felt at the time} I think it might have something to do with their similar names that might add confusion to people who don't know much about either one. Maybe that's what started the rivalry. I still think its fun to do sometimes; though we watch both. {Husbie actually likes the latest Star Trek movie}
