 And here's my favorite part
So on Facebook I found this poll that Fox News posted asking "Should members of Congress be paid if the government shuts down?"
I found it sometime before 6:30pm and took a screenshot of it because I was completely surprised at how many people said yes. I went back a couple minutes ago to see it go up even higher.
At the moment I went back to it 5,801 people says yes; 903,219 people say no; and 129,310 people say they should be docked pay.
What do you guys think?

I think they shouldn't get paid and they should all take a nice big pay cut.

If they are going to dock the military and all there pay then why should congress get money too. I say dock there pay and don't let them earn a single cent and learn what it's like for us people to live on a budget.

And here's my favorite part
I still can't believe how many people think they deserve to get paid if the government shuts down. I would love to be able to make a fraction of what they do. And they do need a taste of what its like to live in our shoes. Money's made them forget what its like if they did start off "poor".

So many of them are detached from the average american and don't know what it's like to fret over a $20 plate of food. Shoot I look at that and go that's expensive while they go eh it's just money. Granted some of them do donate to charities, but do they honestly need 6 figure incomes? I mean I made $13,000 last year and still made it work for me and my bills.

Its good that they give money to charities and whatnot but what about the ones that don't get any help what so ever but are good people? And I look at a $5 plate of food and cringe.
I would hang out with a group of my friends every saturday all day. My one friend would come pick me up we'd go hang out at this coffee shop for brunch with a couple other friends. Then we'd head over to the college to LARP where we'd pick up dinner. Then afterwards head over to Denny's until like 1 in the morning. The whole day she would pay for herself, her boyfriend, and me to get food. I would look at her and would be like wow... I wish I would atleast be able to do something for her. But because of the s**t that's been going on with the government and the economy I can't.

Yeah my dad is getting $34 taken out of his military retirement because of the Obamacare. I was like what the heck.

My fiance just confirmed a little bit ago that if the government does shut down it is going to affect his paycheck. Of course him being him he didn't tell me how >.>
But why should people that sit on their a** all day get paid the same or even get a raise when they're planning on taking away from the people that are out there busting their asses and even dying for them to be able to do what they do?

Well I'm unsure if it's confirmed, but I was reading something that they will cut all military pay in half. Starting on the 15th of April.

Hmm not sure if it's regardless of the shut down or not. I think it was on the discussion board on the FOX News FB page where I was reading it.

I found this article: ABC NewsSo basically if they don't shut down nothing will happen, but if they do shutdown which it looks like a 99 percent change they will shut down then they do get cut.
