Okay, maybe it's not Big Brother, I do think that someone is spying on this guild. It all started with a guild request that I got. Big whoop! I usually get one or two per week, so I never really thought about it. I logged onto my mule's account and there was an identical join request, and my mule doesn't really post outside of the guild except for with guild events. Then, I noticed on my friends update list that several of my friends were joining the same guild that was supposed to be for people 21+ Even our junior members are joining! And, out of all of the people I saw joining, all of them were members of this guild. Therefore, I'm pretty sure that this "The Round Table" guild went through our members list and invited every single guild member. That's really unethical, and it's creepy to think that people can exploit a public member's list like that. It rather makes me uneasy. Like I said, I feel like I'm being watched. ninja I'm sure that that guild is good and all, but seriously! What kind of person goes to a guild for adults, copies the member list, and then invites all of the members to another guild for adult? It's like thievery or something! xp
*Edit - I chatted with the people from that guild, and apparently, they were recruiting for their guild using our member list because they didn't know that they could advertise in the guilds forum. The random invites have stopped, and hopefully both guilds can go about their business without any worry. biggrin

I can assure you that I received no such invite. It is just a guess on my part, but I would assume that I wasn't the only person from this guild that was not invited to that guild. Do think that there is some conspiracy to exclude me? No.
I think a more likely explanation is that a bunch of people you happen to be friends with also happen to hang around the same forum [or forums] on Gaia. One that neither you nor I post in nor anyone else from this guild who didn't get invited to that one. Someone in the crew for that guild probably did a mass invite from that forum.
Or one of the crew for that forum has been mass inviting from their own friend's list.
Either way, I doubt it is anything personal.

No Invite here either. If that Is what's happening , then that's a pretty low way to do things. However, whitby's Idea seems more likely.

There are a couple of people from this guild who also hang out at the Round Table. I got an invite from that guild too a couple of days ago and decided to join it because it looked like fun. But no, I don't think Big Brother is after us. It's probably just mutual acquaintances or something. 3nodding

I just got a request too. Maybe they just didn't finish going through your list the first time I posted. I mean other than this guild I don't really hang out with the older people or anything like that. So I don't have a lot of mutual acquaintances.

Most of the guild members don't post in the same areas. A few of the guild members posted in the Halloween Party thread that I made, but even 15-year-old Twigirl (now KIERAGLADD) got an invite though the guild says for 21+ I don't think it's a coincidence. I wonder who is inviting all of the guild members. If there is a member of this guild on the crew of the other guild, I could understand, but I didn't recognize any names when I checked.
@Alvinette - I'm sure it's a great guild and all. I just have a problem with their recruitment techniques. xp

Nope. They still haven't tried inviting me, so I still doubt it is the members list. It may have been the halloween party thread in the event forum though as I barely posted in it, so they may have written me off as one of those people who joins guilds but isn't going to participate.

I got an invite a little while ago, and it said "someone you know no may have suggested you, but who?" If Lily and Emerill have invites, I'll let you know, because that's lame.

Why not ask them how they recruit new people? I dunno; it really doesn't bother me if they're going through our membership lists. If it's there for all the world to see, then it's arguably fair game. (And no, it's not like I'm leaving Vetus Gaianus and going to another guild. I've made a grand total of one or two posts over at the Round Table, and if things get ugly between Vetus Gaianus and the Round Table, I'll leave the Round Table without hesitation.) But I don't really think they're trying to sabotage us, and I am not in the least upset about it. Maybe it's just because I don't know whether or not their recruiting practice is against the terms of service. And hey, we could always invite them over here, you know. wink

I think they are doing a few at a time. I'm friends with almost every single member of this guild. Today, according to my friend updates, Skutz (who hasn't posted in here in months, and didn't even post once in the Halloween thread) and Epcot (who also didn't post in the Halloween thread) joined. Give it time; you'll probably get one too. xp I'm going to go check my brother's account. He's a member (though he hasn't logged onto Gaia in forever), so he won't mind me checking.
