1) Strong vine of yore Once garnished with thorn, Ancient and withered With two buds adorned Gilded with rings, supported by others Ticked off a Screamer, Wrath from the wailer Farewell, I wish you well Man of Thor, Man of War
2) Lower than low Killer of kin Quick to find Fault, But bears nothing within Powerless gifter with words so fair lo and behold, the runt is made of Tin
3) The wealth of kings I did possess Until the day t’ was one cup less Chaos did I cause those days All things doth fell before my Rage The people raised such great lament To me a Hero must be sent But when I roared and shone my light All but two took wing in flight Hours past, midst toil and pain I stood victorious, a King laid slain But what is this, this tearing blade The Prince attacks me in his rage So now I dwell beneath the sea Forgotten by all, perhaps by thee I know not what my name, my ken Can you, perhaps… help me, my friend.
4) Giver of riches Loyalty's boon Uncle of Princes Died from his Wound Rides with the Valkyries Off to see Odin
5) I am he who has swam through the seas And run Naegling through a Great serpent with ease From a shadow beast an arm I've torn And slain the shadow dam while she mourned

ok... here is a hint people, as Kero has stated these are five seperate riddles each about a different person or thing, but they do have a central theme in that they all pertain to someone or something from a particular tale... and as Archer_jack has stated it involves Anglos, Saxons and Danes... good luck... I'll give out another hint is a few days... wink
