I have some friends who believe edge guarding is dishonorable and cheap. I think its fun and involves much skill and gives you good practise for recovering. What do you think?

Of course edge guarding isn't cheap! Just like every other aspect of the game, there are techniques both to edge guard, and to counter edgeguarding. Most of my friends stay away from my recoveries, because thier edgeguarding techniques are't as good as my counters... ....If your friends think that edgeguarding is dishonerable.... well, you can tell them that they need o stay away from the edge! wink

One of my friends told me once that I only could win from him (he uses Samus) because I edge guard so much and because I use my counter too much (and actually using the counter well), so I showed him that I didn't needed them to play good and I won without using the counter and without edge guarding, I didn't even walked much toward the edges at all and stayed in the middle most of the fight (on Final Destination).
Since than I have reduced my edge guarding alot, but still do it ofcourse, there is nothing cheap or dishonorable about it. Its just another way of fighting, or just as Idfection called them: techniques.

MisterMalice Edge guarding is fun, I love capeing Fox or ganandorf while Im Doc. I dont know what these guys are on about, what should I try to help them get back on the ledge? try teaching them to aim lower, where they barely catch the ledge. that way, they avoid the danger of the cape, and it is much easier to recover from the ledge than from the air. A good ledge recovery tech is to press down on the stick, making you fall, then immediatly press jump to get back up on stage. This allows you to use your airial A's instead of Bs which are harder to counter. Try teaching them that, and see if they complain any less! wink
