I'm planning on attending a Dragon Boat Festival in the near future in loli, and it's going to be HOT. With me being more or less a snow-princess, I'm very concerned with over-heating. Any suggestions on what I can go for that might not give me heat stroke while still being lolita? For example, is going sleeveless okay? Please help! heart

I took care of the other thread, you're good to go!
In summer, when it's super hot, I skip the blouse and wear JSKs or cutsews that are designed for warmer weather. I live in Texas, though, so that's majority of the year, really. From April to October, we're in the 80F range and above, often climbing over 100F. Examples:

You can go sleeveless for sure. If you're selfconscious about baring your arms, you can also put a light, knit bolero over top of your JSK.

I've suggested it before, but only because I think it's a good idea. Perhaps you might acquire a knee-length hoop skirt to wear in lieu of petticoats. Getting the fabric away from your body helps a great deal, and you can get the shape of lolita without the extra layers. I know from my reenacting experience, wearing a hoopskirt is actually much cooler than going without a hoop or crinoline, because you get the breeze up around your legs. Also something I picked up from reenacting in the summer, bloomers are your friend if you are not a small girl. Something to wick up sweat and prevent chafing is well worth the extra layer of eyelet.

I actually went today, sooner than I thought I would^^;; I wore my knee-length lacy blue strapless dress I had from my junior prom, with white vest, apron, and little girls' sandals. My giant tea-pot purse got the most praise, and a girl actually stopped me to tell me how Lolita it was! heart heart heart It made my day~

I just had a lolita meet up and it was super hot. I kinda wish I'd gone with white or lighter colors, but I skipped the socks, chose a short sleeve top, a very light bloomers (because we were going ice skating later). It was super hot. I also brought a fan, that was a big help. ^_^

Cottons, light colors and sleeveless blouse and skirt or a jsk, with maybe a bolero in case there's a breeze. Avoid lace parasols, they don't really work as far as blocking heat and sunlight. The paper ones and the little lolita umbrellas do much better though.
To be honest, on really hot days, I skip bloomers and go for spankies or work out shorts. That way no one can sneak a peak under the ruffles, but I'm way more comfortable. It means a little less poof, but you can always wear a poofier petti. It's also a good excuse to get your hair done in a super cute do since wearing a wig under a motorcycle helmet in 80 degree weather in a traffic jam sucks. scream Sorry, I digress...
also, alpha, love your outfit for so many reasons.

Try finding cute sandals that will work well with your coordinate. That way you can avoid socks and stay cooler. Also, depending on how you wear them, ankle socks and look good. But it's tough because they tend to cross over into "little girl" style, rather than lolita. Like I said it's all a matter of how you wear them.

If your wear nylon stockings and shave one week before then the nylon against the hair creates a cooling sensation. Sometimes the same theory will work if you have freshly shaven legs as well. Trust me on this one I am a lolita in Arizona.
