How can I get them to go green? I live with my father, who doesn't like the situation and such, but is to cheap to donate to any societies, replace the light bulbs, or even to get a more fuel efficient car. His girlfriend doesn't really care, and all she wants is gold. How can I inspire them to go green? Every time I try I get yelled at by her and sent back to my room and she tells me "I'm in the way" and am bothering them. What are your suggestions to get my family to go green? Please tell, all ideas are good and I'll take each and every one of them into consideration.

there are a lot of ways to go green. if your father doesn't want to spend money on light bulbs and such, tell him that it would be a lot better for the electricity bill. you can suggest low-flow shower heads to help with the water bill too. then keep lights off yourself when no one is there. make sure to stop any water leaks and do other little things like shorter showers, turning off water while you brush your teeth. keep the computer turned off when no one is using it too. another tip is to unplug appliances and chargers you're not using.

going green is all about saving money. all you have to do is use less stuff and reuse what you have.
my dad is also very cheap and he loves the going green thing because he can use it as an excuse to save money.
