I just read 'Every Man a King' by Heuy P. Long, a US Senator durring the Great Depression. This guy had no idea what he was saying! He wanted to 'spread the wealth', just like Obama does now. No more than 10 million dollars a person. Does anyone know what that would have done to America? Half of our businesses would have crashed! The business owners wouldn't be able to pay for all of their employees, and unemployment, already ridiculously high at that time, would have completely skyrocketted! He doesn't even regard what started the Great Depression! The middle class went on a buying frenzy in the stock market, then the market crashed. Banks who had invested in the market fell with it, and as it dropped everyone tried to sell out ASAP, but no one was buying, so the money was just vanishing. By the time the day's out, the middle class is wrecked, leaving only those who didn't need the stock market to get by. If these people had invested everything in stock as well, we wouldn't have had an economy at the end of this! Long was proposing socialism! He was almost proposing communism! We had a communist in senate before anyone even knew what communism was! And he can't even quote scripture right! Give to Caesar what is Caesar's!

Hi there!

Well, yeah... Communism has been around a long, long time and even in America. Huey P. Long knew exactly what he was saying though. He was a radical progressive! They don't teach you that stuff in school. You won't learn the truth about history until you start reading books on your own and even some of them will be lies, especially if written by radical progressives!

Old progressive Huey wasn't very old though. He was killed at the age of 42. Whether by someone who assassinated him or by bodyguards who may have shot him by mistake (accidentally on purpose maybe?) no one knows. Well, someone knew but nobody talked, so it still remains unsolved. His last words were "God don't let me die. I have too much left to do." Thank God he didn't get it done, but Obama is doing a good job of picking up where he left off, don't you agree?

I'm glad you're reading outside of what you get in the classroom and thinking outside the box. I pray there are lots more young folks with half your brains. Good for you! heart

Yeah, I already knew all of that too. My post was to fill in those who didn't know on the basics.

There certainly are a lot people around who don't know the basics and it's not all their fault. We're taught to trust our teachers and it seems a lot of people (including myself when I was younger) just take what they teach us on faith. We need to get teachers into our schools who teach the truth and not their political agenda.

I listen to my teachers and trust my parents. They usually seem to know what they're talking about. My dad doesn't even talk when he doesn't know what he'd be talking about.
