So. Kinda obvious what this thread is about. Still though, the World Cup, ladies and gentleman, what do you think? Have you caught any games yet? I watched:
Uruguay v France Argentina v Nigeria England v USA
Missed the other 2 matches. I was disappointed in France, I feel they could have won that match rather than getting a 0:0 tie.
Argentina v Nigeria was a pretty good match, Nigeria tried at least, but couldn't keep Argentina from getting their goal.
England v USA PISSED ME OFF. I may be an American, but I'm rooting for England. Seriously though, the American goal which tied this game at 1 - 1 was pure bullshit. Nothing but luck for the USA team and bad luck for the England Goalie, Green. I'll give it to this for USA though, they have one hell of a goalie. Howard knows how to play his position.
So what do you fine gents and lasses think? Who do you want to win? Do you feel that some of the calls they make during games are bullshit? Do you not care at all about the World Cup? HELL YEAH LET'S GO ENGLAND!

And just what country is that? ( Sorry for having to ask, since having people from all over the globe pretty much in this guild, it's kinda difficult to just guess )
Also, Is anyone else hoping the Germany wins the match later today?

Football (not the american kind) and Hockey are the only sports of interest in my household. But frankly I don't mind who wins. So long as it's not Brazil, they have just won too many times already.
The poor goalie from England had a seriously embracing mishap with that goal. Poor guy, he looked humiliated and they made a huge stink over it.
Oh did you all know that some of the players are saying the ball this year is possessed?

Saverio C. I hate soccer but damn it if I won't root for AMERICA! Screw that s**t. England is better than the USA team! USA got lucky that Green slipped up. On a related note. WOW Australia's defense was s**t today. The goalie tried, but there's only so much a person can do when you have people coming at you like that. In the end, Germany takes the win with an impressive show while doing it, and Australia at least TRIED to keep them from getting anymore rather than just giving up.

I watched the Germany vs. Australia game yesterday. Germany kicked total butt! They were just a stronger team overall that day. I was disappointed the England tied with US. Granted that I live in the US, I was born in Canada, and both my parents were born in England, so I root for England! 4laugh

wakusei In all my 25 years I have never seen so many people in the USA care about soccer.
These past few days have left me so confused.... >_> I've loved soccer for years. I've watched the past few world cups when I was able to. Basically, Americans just care right now because we're in it and they think they have a chance at winning. Lawl, like that will ever happen.
