At our last concert, one of our band directors got on stage and announced what all the seniors were planning on doing after high school.
First chair French Horn in Wind Ensemble (the top group) is going to Harvard.
Harvard.
She got a perfect score on her SAT's and I hate her so much. But she's still a goddess and more or less my idol.
Another trombonist got a full ride to the Naval Academy where he's going to study Nuclear Engineering. What even.
And a Tuba player got a full ride to Brown to study Molecular Biology. But she's Indian, so I suppose that's fitting.

As in, Southern Asia Indian.
And that was some racial humor on my part. The stereotype I'm most familiar with is if you don't drive a taxi, then your a doctor. I thought a molecular biologist was close enough.

I think we had a choir and band in my school. I had no interest though, so it all went under my radar though. Yours sounds cool though.

The large majority of Science students are Asian (not as in oriental) so it's not an inaccurate stereotype, or in any ways offensive (imo) razz High School bands aren't the norm here, so we didn't have one. My friend band where pretty decent though, played "Brick in the wall" by Pink Floyd on our leavers day. xd (Hey teachers! Leave them kids alone!)

Although the singer played the violin sometimes...
I know a bunch of people played classical instruments but I never saw a band doing any performances.
