Powers: Shadow Manipulation: The ability to manipulate darkness and shadows
A user of this superpower can do the exact opposite of someone with Photo-Kinesis; they can decrease the amount of light and create 'flashes' of total darkness. They can also cloak themselves to hide during the night and can become completely invisible when in shadows. An adept user would be able to 'melt' into the shadows and could travel between them easily. An extremely adept user would be able to create the illusion of the Sun dimming in the sky by creating a planet-wide veil of darkness.
Nightfall:
The ability to produce an aura that produces various night/dark related effects
This is the ability to generate an aura of psionic darkness around oneself. This aura of darkness makes the area around it look like it would at night (hence the name), and psionically blinds everybody in the field, along with making anyone within the aura/field appear invisible to anyone outside of the aura/field. Not to mention, this aura also protects the user and anyone else within the field from intense light, as the field absorbs all ambient light within a certain radius.

Shadow Automatism:
The ability to have an independently-acting shadow which can affect one's environment
This ability is quite the odd one; it is the presence of a shadow that can act independently of the user; this shadow can affect matter by affecting the matter's shadow. In fact, the shadow almost seems a separate entity; while it is still connected to the user, it can "speak" to the user, formulate thoughts of its own, and bond with the user, gifting him with night vision and enhanced attributes.

Shadow Empathy
The ability to possess an empathic connection to darkness
Humanity has a natural fear of the dark, with a few marked exceptions. A Shadow Empath has an emotional link to shadows; darkness will always be found near them like water at the beach. This means that when they are distressed, afraid, or angry, the shadows will rise up and flood the area. The target of the negative emotions gets cut off from light, sound, and air so long as the user is distressed. With practice, the user may even be able to shape the shadows into tendrils or shadow-balls.

Biography: From a young age, Ophelia seemed to thrive in the shadows. She was always a social outcast, and for the longest time, thought she was crazy. She believed this because of the presence of her Shadow self, which seemed to be an indication of insanity. She seems to constantly fight her shadow self for control, and can often lose control of her powers. When she was twelve, she finally discovered why she had such an affinity with the shadows, almost killing a man in the process. She spends plenty of her time at the academy, but doesn't quite feel at home there.

Powers: The ability to manipulate or generate light:
With this ability, he can take control of the light surrounding him, or even in dark places, emit light from his hands or body. He can even create floating balls of light. When surrounded with light, he can bend it around himself, rendering him with limited invisibility, he can also bend other forms of light such as lasers that would trigger alarms etc. With more practice, he can make his ability offensive, either by creating laser beams from his hands or creating solidified objects of light.

Biography: When Ophelia's powers were used for the first time, Matteo was nearly suffocated by the darkness. He was cautious when his sister was acting strange, but was otherwise much more understanding than their parents, who practically quarantined her. He became even more protective of her than he was before.
He is only just discovering his power, and hasn't told anyone yet. He is thinking that maybe he can be around his sister more now, if he can their parents to let him go to the academy.
