In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance...
List the mistakes those stupid announcers have made at competitions you've been to!
Here's mine: At Jo Albi competition, we were set up on the field, at attention, waiting for the go-ahead from the judges. The announcer comes on to introduce us to the crowd and (our BD's name is Mr. LaPlante [Lah-PLANT]) introduces us as the "East Valley Marching Band and Colorguard, under the direction of Mr. Gary Plant." We almost lost because we couldn't hold it together on the field, we were laughing so hard.
... In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.

WowXD
Our DMs this past marching season have names that are apparently hard to pronounceXD
Julander-just because we live in Arizona, everyone thinks it is hulander. You pronounce the J
Timpani- yes, ehr name is spelt like an instument, but the an is pronounced on.
Caesar urhea: they always pronounce his name like a white kidXD Yet the white kid is pronounced spanishXD it is say-sar Your-ee-ah.

Freshman year, there was one competition where EVERY DM's name was mispronounced in our band, and only one of them was a more "awkward" pronunciation (and even that was pretty straight-forward). It was pretty funny. =P
My favorite competition is at a local CSU. They ALWAYS have air-grams at it, and our friends usually decide to poke fun at each other. The announcer usually makes it even better. One time, our girl DM was pranked, as it seemed she asked one of the goofballs in our band to Sadie's. It went something like, "[Boy Name], will you go to Sadie's with me? Signed, [Girl's name]." The announcer chimed in, "[Boy's name], I think you'd better go." xD

Several mistakes this past 2010 year.
Our show was The Pyramids of Egypt: Construction, Completion, and Curse of the Pharohs. Our Assistant band Director name was : Mr. Micheal Misko.
They said "Now here to perform is the Southside Cardinal Band performing Construction, Completion, and Battle of the Pharohs. They are under the head band director Mr. William Ricketts, and assistant director Mr. Micheal Mikos
They always messed up Misko's name or the show title almost every time we had a competition.
The year b4 that, our Drum major's name was Kyle Quebe (Pernounced Quee-bee), but they anounced him as Kyle Queesh.

Oh, let us count the names; California, Colorado, Connecticut.
That's it? I would have thought there'd be more...
We need some more C states...

Our band director's name is ALWAYS murdered........
Its Mr. Bialkin (B-all-kin), but they say it in MULTIPLE ways, for example
Mr. Bilincoln Mr. Banakin
And announcer once decided a freshman was a brass captain. Okay.

Our band was at a team luncheon for a bowl game, and the announcer/speaker/whatever introduced our director as "Dr." (he's not actually a doctor) and the Utah band director as "Mr. Dr.".
She also welcomed the Utah football team, then the Utah band, then our band, then started talking about something else, completely forgetting our football team.
Heh. Also, I was the announcer once for a music festival hosted by our high school, and one band director came up to me about eight times to make sure that I would pronounce his name right. Better than the alternative, I guess...

Nothing major from here.
I'm from South Point High School, and they've called us South Park a few times.
and my friend Micah Lucas was announced as both Micah Lewis, and Micha Lucas. so...we just call her Micha Lewis. c;
They've called our band director, Mr. Bent Hunt, Mr. Brette Hunt before...
And, apparently can't pronounce Chronometry...
hmm... yeah....nothing really.

Oh my gosh, I just remembered the best thing. Two years ago we did a Hip Hop Show, and our band announcer introduced each of the songs, including "Kuh-nile West...STRANGER!" Obviously he's not really current with popular music, haha...

They mispronounced my DMs last name once. His name is Jared Eaves [Jeh-red Eves] and they said his last name as [Yah-vez]. Totally not even remotely similar. Lol. XD
And they mispronounced the dance teacher's name too. You pronounce it like Sakura but they said some weird crap. Lol.
