Maddy walked silently along, eating her ice cream. She barely saw it coming. She treid to dodge, but it was no use. WHACK! Feeling a cruel slug across the face, she fell to the ground, nearly unconscious. Unable to get up, she lay quietyly until the world stopped spining.
In an unexpected ambush, the pole always wins.
