I'm going with Bodyline.

I read up on it here and on other forums/review sites and saw that it's pretty good, but it's kind of like a Loli*Mart, which is just fine by me 'cause I got bills to pay, mouths to feed and we's hongry!
Also, I'm notorious for reverse engineering cheaper dresses (seam ripping) and analyzing them (copying patterns) to remake them in more quality materials, so I don't mind if it's polyester or whatever. They look pretty comfy to me.

So, I've chosen a few items that I think are really nice and would be more versatile -and cheap!- and I'm almost ready to buy.

I've got a good mastery of all things paypal and ebay now that I've got my own store, but have been known to mess things up with other sites.(shipping x-mas presents to an old address, assuming it's updated too like my ebay, not doing my paypal transfers in the order that makes them go through faster, clicking the wrong button, if it's a stupid honest mistake, I've done it.)

So, is there anything I missed? For example: "If you order shoes/skirts, get them a size large because the size chart is off." or "Double check that you ordered the right color because the site puts it back to a default if you switch windows." Anything like that. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm paranoid, about to drop a pretty penny, and I'd rather end up on gtfogaia then screw up my order.

Thanks guys!
-Belle

"According to statistics, there are 5% package will be required to pay tax and submit IDS and SSN # by US custom or other identification number by custom in other countries. If you are urgent, you can pay it. If you are not urgent, reject the package please. The package will return us. We will send it again, the round delivery fee and redelivery fee will be paid by BODYLINE. You will not pay any extra fee. We only resent once. After that you should pay tax."

What? Is this something I should worry about or no?

No, that doesnt happen often. Didnt happen to me when I ordered from them and havent heard anyone say they had it happen to them. What that pretty much means if you get asked by customs to give your social say no then they will send it back to bodyline who will then reship it free of charge for this one time to see if they ask you for your info again to receive the package. But again, Ive never heard of that actually happening.

I have the blouse, its pretty short, but its comfy for the most part, and that jabot is removable so are the sleeves. Its very nice, I love it <3

As for the shoes. . . I made a mistake by buying my 'size' but they were at least a size bigger D: I mean I figured. . . asians. . . smaller. Shoes. . . smaller. lol.

Edit: and that 5% thing. . . I didn't have to pay it, I don't think you'll have to either.

I'm a size 8 in american. i will order the 81/2 9 size to be safe (can work with them a little big, not a little small). will that run a little too big then, so i should just order 8?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 22, 2010 9:52 pm

K, figured everything out and ordered. At the last minute I switched the blue green shoes for more minty green ones, and i stuck with the 81/2 - 9 black boots because I'd rather have boots larger for warmer stockings, and the mint shoes will arrive in 8-81/2 which even if it's a little big should still fit alright. I'm about an 8-81/2 in american, so a size 9 won't kill me.

One more question though, I've been googling DHL and stuff. Do I have to sign for my package personally? Like show ID and sign? Or can my fiance sign for me? It will arrive next tuesday and I'll be in the office, but nintendo is only a block away, should I just skip home and sign then go back to work or not worry about it and have him sign?

reading some reviews, I think I goofed up my shoe sizes. Apparently they run much bigger than I thought, so my boots might be two sizes too big, and the others 1 size too big. Oh well, I can take the boots to a shoer and have one of those thingies put in that makes the inside of the shoe shorter and tighter. Or just stuff it with cotton like ballerinas. Besides, I'd rather have a shoe that's too long than too tight around my bizarre but adorable feets. We'll see...

This is kind of off-topic,
but I love all of the weird but totally cute phrases you say.
xd
"We's hongry" and "bizarre but adorable feets."

But BACK ON TRACK here...
I'm glad you made this thread,
because I've got a wishlist stuffed full of Bodyline stuff,
and the shoe size thing was one of the things worrying me,
and some of the concerns you brought up in this topic
were things I hadn't even thought of.

(Those shoes you're getting in blue instead of minty green -
I have the chocolatey brown version in my wishlist, too~)

I've never bought shoes from anywhere besides Payless,
and my shoe size seems to vary depending upon the brand.
Mooooost of the time 6.5 fits me fine, but sometimes
6 fits just as well, and so does 7.
A couple of times I have been able to wear a pair labeled 5,
so I know that there is some definite variation in measurement going on here...
Which is just what I get for only ever buying the cheapest shoes around. XD

I'm pretty unsure which size to order through Bodyline.
Doll Named Mouse - you must let me know if, when yours come in,
they do end up being one or two sizes larger than you thought they were going to be.

Annnnnd now that I've said all of that,
I don't have anything else to contribute to the thread.
I don't have any answers for your other questions, I'm sorry.

... I cannot stress this enough. MEASURE YOUR FEET. ):

Everybody seems to get the wrong size from Bodyline, since they're inconsistent with their "this size is really a US ___" translations. They're rarely accurate. It's really best to just trace your foot on paper, measure it in cm, and get the size that matches that length. They build in an extra half centimeter to accommodate socks, so you won't be crammed in.

I ordered 25.5 and 260. I measured in at 25cm. Is it possible to request a size change before the order is sent out? Otherwise, I can handle them being a size too big, especially the boots.

@Magical- Mos def will let you know. I shop frequently at Payless too and I'm a fairly consistent size 8 in their store. My feet are slightly narrow, and 25cm long. I'll let you know how the shoes fit. I got 25.5 and 260 to start but sent an email asking if I could change it to both being 25. (there's no 25.5 for the boots I wanted so I tried to be safe and order a size up, not down) so I'll let you know what I end up with and how it fits. Might even do a review ^^. I've been reading a lot of good ones, so I'm excited!

The only time that I heard of someone being asked for SSN and paperwork was when she ordered contacts. The FDA can be picky about that stuff. I have heard of DHL making people pay extra fees, so I went with EMS...
PostPosted: Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:51 pm

Hmm, I'd like to know more about these customs actions, the laws or reasons behind them, potential charges, etc. If anyone can direct me to a site or something that has the facts, it'd be greatly appreciated. In the mean time, I'll do my own research and just hope I don't get hit with an extra charge.

Do you have an option with Bodyline to choose another courier?

Also, has anyone ordered this?

I'm not sure on the quality, but man, just getting one to take apart and remake with better materials would be awesome. I LOVE the design. It says, "Hey you! I'm Captain, so do as I say."

I don't think you can change the sizes after submitting the order, no. If they're too large when they arrive, you can always resell them somehow. .5-1cm may not be a big deal, though, so you might be safe. Also, feet are funny. My right foot is 24cm, but the left is 24.5. I baaaaarely fit into the Secret Shop L, but LL is far too big.

I've also heard that a lot of girls recommend putting insoles into the shoes for extra comfort, so that also would knock out some of the "extra" space.

Yeah, just found that out this morning. This was the response. It's alright, cause I'm 25cm, and the boots are 26, and I like my boots a little big for winter sock guards anyway. The shoes are only 25.5 so that'll be fine too. They ship it out so fast! I'm amazed.

Dear customer.

Thank you for contacting us,
We are so sorry.
Your package has been sent out today.

Thanks

Thanks for all the tips! I can't wait till my stuff gets here.

And insoles sound like a great idea, way better than cotton stuffing, I didn't even think of that -even though it's way more reasonable then shoving in cotton, lol. So that should help a ton just in case.

You should be okay on the 25.5, dunno about the boots, though. Since they lace up, you might be okay in the end, since you can tighten the lacing on your ankles to keep them from moving around. I did that with a pair that I have that's slightly too large. So.

Good luck!

Also, I saw your other question about couriers before: I believe you can choose EMS or DHL as your shipping service, but EMS doesn't get the same discounted shipping costs that DHL does. So. You'll have to pay regular price, which for shoes is mighty high.
