If something is wrong with the site (abnormally slow, not connecting, 500/503 errors, or is just completely down)
this is where I will post information that I have regarding the issue, as well as a estimate of time to fix, if available.
Site traffic and 503 Service Unavailable errors:
During peak times like the weekends you will notice them more often, along with graphics not loading at all. I do apologize for these. They can be fixed by clicking refresh.
As soon as we can take Network Admin classes next fall, we will be running a dedicated server. This will eliminate that problem for all of you.
I never anticipated DMv2 would get as popular as it is, and I thank all of you <3
Current Features of Dolphin Mania v2
~ Shoutbox - Have something to say? Want to chat with other users of DMv2? This feature will allow you to do so! Simply
click the "Hide/Show Shoutbox" link to get started. Users can register their usernames to avoid name stealing or imitating.
You can register a username by clicking the "Open User Panel" link at the bottom of the shoutbox. To save your password so you
do not have to type it in constantly, have your browser "remember", or save the password.
~ Current number of players on a tank - Need to know how many players a tank currently has?
Just hover your mouse over the play link to see a pop-up of that information.
~ Dolphin Mania v2 CLASSIC - The original. As simple as it gets. No flashy images, no pretty colors. Just Booty Grab at it's finest.
Click the "Play classic" link in the "What will you play?" menu to get started.
~ P&P Forums - Want to hang out with fellow BGers in a user ran forum? Click the P&P forum links at the top of each page!
Known Issues - Currently working on
~ 33/34 players, but full - This seems to be a Gaia related error. The tank will say 33/34 players, but be full.
Not sure what the cause of this is, but I apologize if you experience it.
~ "Already Playing Another Game" error - This is a user caused error. Exiting a Booty Grab game too early will cause this.
You will now have to wait until Gaia auto-kicks you from the game. This can take 10-15 minutes to do. Just be patient.
~ IE7 & Below visual issues - Internet Explorer is horrible, straight up. The CSS standards they set in IE7 and below are well below par.
If you experience a bad visual theme on those browsers, I recommend upgrading to Mozilla Firefox,
or Internet Explorer 8.
Updates:
Dec. 11th 2009 - Made page, and opened it closed beta. Open to only a few friends.
Dec. 13th 2009 - Updated with Glow Timer. Script was donated from absol.
Dec. 16th 2009 - Open page to public.
Dec. 17th 2009 - Updated again with bump page link only showing when glowing, and linked names to profiles.
Dec. 18th 2009 - Added a link to play a few Watermeats. This list will grow over time ^_^
Dec. 19th 2009 - Also added a Monster Mania section. It only has 2 pages at the moment, Will grow over time ^_^
Dec 19th 2009 - Added a beginning of the Momo Mania page.
Dec. 20th 2009 - Added a few more Momos and Monsters, as well as updated Dolphin Mania v2 to the 19th page of the thread.
Dec. 25th 2009 - Added a new layout to the page that my fiance threw together. Also included a link to the CLASSIC page if you like playing that better,
Dec. 26th 2009 - Working on issues with Internet Explorer and the new layout.
Dec 26th 2009 - Found out the IE issues were only with IE 7 and below. I added an alert to tell users with those browsers to upgrade, play classic, or get Mozilla Firefox. Also noted that Chrome off-margins the links.
Dec 26th 2009 - Noticed the margins on my page numbers were not allowing links on the last 2 or 3 tanks to be clicked.
Dec 26th 2009 - Found bug, working to fix it
Dec 29th 2009 - Estimated tanks as of today: 500. Estimated number of fish, 8,500
Dec 29th 2009 - Went through and made profiles link to user id instead of username, incase someone changes their names. Also, fixed a bug with bump thread links.
Jan 3rd 2010 - I plan on updating Classic V2 tanks, as well as coding (mainly profile link coding like the main pages) I'll keep you informed ^_^
Jan 8th 2010 - Hovering over PLAY links will now show you the current total players of the tank ^_^ Enjoy!
Jan 10th 2010 - Estimated tanks as of today: 670. Estimated number of fish: 11,390
Jan 13th 2010 - Added a shoutbox to Dolphin Mania!
Jan 15th 2010 - Added a Show/Hide option for the shoutbox.
Feb 6th 2010 - Broke most users in one day record. 11,923 people were online today ^_^
