We may have had something like this a long time ago, I'm not sure. But what's up with people and forgetting birthdays? This is not aimed at my awesome guildies cause you're awesome, but all my friends in school forgot. It was kind of weird, but all my dance friends remembered and actually personally called me up (it's 18, its a pretty big deal I think). I dunno whether to be annoyed or start wondering who my real friends are...

First of all, happy birthday! biggrin
Secondly, it's not that unusual for people to forget birthdays. It happens all the time, that I've seen. Not always because they're not good friends, it's also because the person may not have told their friends, so how could they know, or that it merely slipped their mind. I've forgotten my best friend's birthday before, though I didn't mean to. ._. I was thinking about it the week beforehand, but come the day of, it just escaped me completely. I don't think that makes me a particularily forgetful person, or not a "real" friend. Just human. It happens. And it's true that you only turn 18 once, but you also turn 19 once, 20 once, 21 once, 25 once, 50 once... so don't look too deeply into it. You'll have plenty of monumental birthdays to come. smile

Well... Do you make big deals out of your birthdays or do you expect people to remember them after you told them once or are you secretly testing them over the course of a year to see if they can recall when your birthday is...?
O_O
So far, my uber close friends have not forgotten, but I'm not making big deals out of my birthday nowadays, so in time... cool

As they said, it all comes down to the person. My ex can NOT remember birthdays for the life of him, he always gets mine mixed up with his cousin's, and gets them BOTH wrong. rolleyes
And I hit a milestone birthday this last year that was probably the LEAST eventful birthday a person could have, almost forgotten altogether. *shrug* smile

Eighteen is exciting. I turn 18 in 2 months blaugh But yeah. I personally don't mind if people I don't know all that well forgets my birthday.. I mean Facebook and its handy-dandy Bday list gets me a ton of wall posts anyways.. but have you ever told them your birthday?
On the other hand, my close friends usually remembers.

Aretoo may be old, but he's not that old, lol.
So long as he continues to be older than me, it's all good. But if he starts getting younger... ninja I have ways of making people talk, especially about age reversal ninja
Happy birthday, Cadhla! And many, many more! You should just have a fun little hang out time with you friends to make up for it...you know, after mentioning that you just turned 18...they might yet pull through for you with a little memory jog!

Firstly: Happy birthday! biggrin
Secondly: I am totally one of those people who forgets birthdays and important dates sweatdrop I'm just not good at holding them in my mind. Usually a little while before I'll think "Oh! [important date] is coming up! I should [buy a gift // wish person a happy event]." And then the day of it'll completely slip my mind... I also have problems remembering what day of the week it is, sooo, that might have something to do with it xd

Happy Birthday. : )
I cannot remember birthdays. I have an extremely hard time memorizing any numbers, and that includes dates.
I will happily make a huge deal out of my friends' birthdays, so long as they remind me in advance. I can barely remember my family members' birthdays. *shrug*
My 18th birthday was not a big deal. 19 is more of a milestone here, but even that didn't really mean anything to me.

Happy Birthday firstly. And if you don't make a huge todo about how OMG my birthday is coming up, it will slip people's minds. I speak with experience on that. Namely because dates are hard to remember, I mess up my dad's which is one I really should know. sweatdrop
But look at it this way, think of the pleasant surprise you got because some of your friends who you didn't think would remember did.

First off, Happy Belated Birthday
Now, I can usually only remember birthdays if I can correlate them with something else.
IE- I only remembered my brothers birthday after 9/11 happen because his birthday was two days before.
My sister's birthday is the last day of November.
Only remembered by dad's because he shares a birthday with a once close friend of mine.
It doesn't help I can be incredibly forgetful...I forgot the birthday of someone important to me even though he told me the day before when his birthday was.
