i believe in elves, this is why i came to this guild, thinking im crazy or telling me i am will not change me or put me down , that has happend to many people and they lost the gift to communicate with the elves and faeries . i want to show people elves are more than just made up characters in a book , they exists, i do not have much knowledge on the faeries or elves but i know enough to see they exists, if any1 wants to know more about this, check a spiritual item store near your area, or check out some books on communicating w/ the faeries and elves. they even have some websites out on faeries and elves and how to communicate with them . whee

Wow!!! I love that. I actually have an ear that my sister calls my elf ear since it's kind of pointed. Maybe it could help me communicate better. I actually kind of feel the same way. I will always believe in what others might not be able to believe in. It takes more skill and devotion to believe in what you cannot see.

Thanks for being brave enough to share what could be considered a "crazy" belief with us. You get three points for your interesting topic. smile

I believe that elves and faeries (as well as all "mythical" creatures) exist, or existed at one time. However, I don't think that any of them are "magical." After all, isn't a unicorn just a horse with a deformed skull? Aren't elves merely humans with genetically pointed ears?

For example, as far as dragons go, I saw a special on the Discovery Channel about a prehistoric flying lizard (a dinosaur) that scientists have reason to believe had some sort of acid in its stomach that was flammable when it made contact with oxygen, enabling the animal to breathe fire.

As far as faeries are concerned, there are still people in the United States in the state of Kentucky with genetically blue skin. Type "Kentucky blue people" into Google and you'll get many articles by various journalists.

There were people in previous centuries with medical diseases/deficiencies that inspired vampyr and lycanthrope myths. I don't have time to look them up in my books to get their technical names at the moment, but you could probably find the illnesses yourself on the internet if you looked.

So, in short, I do indeed believe in "fantasy" beings. They aren't figments of a delusional imagination. It's simply that my belief in them stems from a scientific standpoint rather than a magical one.
