This is only part of the poem i read one day. I didn't type all of it down so I picked the one I think was important.

@};-- Oh Maiden, Advance with a Sword and a Rose @};--

~by Arika Takano of ALI PROJECT

....There are often maidens who say, "But I'm not cute, so..."
You know, though, that there's no such thing as a maiden who is not cute. It's just that there are those maidens who don't have enough confidence. However, modesty is a virtue, and those maidens won't become the kind of shameless women who are not mindful of their appearance. That's why I think not having confidence is a step towards beauty, too. So, stop looking at the mirror and sighing! You must find at least a piece of yourself that you like best. For example, a part of your face would be nice: like your peachy cheeks or even you eyelashes. Your tiny, pink seashell-like nails are also fine. The fact that you've got a talent for art, or that your specialty is making sweets would be fine, too. It's enough for you to acknowledge, little by little, there is something you excel in. See? When you think of it that way, don't you recall this and that talent?

Say, I can see wings on your back-elegant wings, with luster of velvet. Please keep flying freely, without fear. Even if someone should hurt you, you will end up landing in the right place. I know this well, because once upon a time, I was like you, too
.

I hope this would enouage you biggrin

It fills me with soft, fluffy feelings!!
crying heart

Confidence goes a long way.
Walk into a room and think to yourself, powerfully, "I am the most gorgeous thing in this room."
Watch as heads turn to look at and admire you.

There is a tangible radiance within a woman who believed herself beautiful.

I posted this poem hoping that maybe some lolitas may find this encouraging. It's very hard when some people stare and such.

I've never seen myself as "cute" and I've never really thought of liking myself either.
But, for some odd reason, all my friends always hug me saying I'm so cute even when I'm standing there staring at nothing.
It's strange for me, but I guess I'll try to find something about myself to say: "That's so awesome or pretty."

Thank you for making this. ^^

I voted No. I Believe I'm pretty!! But there was a time when I didn't believe that.. And as it says here, it was just that I didn't have confidence!! 3nodding

Funny thing is that cosplay made me think that I was pretty..
(lol, don't think that I'm one of those who get's into lolita because of cosplay... x3 )

But Lolita made me believe!! heart

By the way I'm sharing this with you!!

It is nice done and how did Oscar Wilde say "One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art."

I think we should always remember that when people stare at us. The way we dress is just another kind of art and we all are artists that should be proud of their work.

When I read that in G&LB, and just now
It makes me want to have confidence.
But I just can't.
I think I need to read it a few more times. . .

But I'm confident I can never be confident.
It doesn't mean I don't love my lolita, though.
I wear it proud. XD

You are untouchable. But you have feelings. You are wearing what you love. Don't forget that ^_^

This was definitely encouraging and its from ALI PROJECT my all time favorite duo! Although I already accept me for who I am and I dont always pick on my flaws because everyone has flaws. Embrace yourself, flaws and all, because it composes you. It would be boring if every girl was the living standard definition of perfection. ...If that makes since at all, sorry I kind of rambled there! sweatdrop

I think all of you should be proud of yourselves and feel confident everyday. After all, it takes at least a bit of courage to wear a petticoat in 2010, right? You might as well spend some of it on loving yourselves just the way you are.

That actually helped a lot.
I tend to get insecure when I wear dresses because I have large hips and thighs.
[I have the build of a Mexican woman. What do you expect?]
But there are my days when I'm feeling daring and will show off my legs.
You just made today one of them. :]

@Karate kick Cupcake:I think it did make a lot of sense ^_^

@A Doll Named Mouse:Would it be a bad thing to say that I dislike petticoats? ^^;;;

๑۩♥ I know I'm cute, darn it! Everyone always says how cute I look or act.
I haven't thought I was ugly in a long long time.

Even knowing this, though, I still don't have much confidence in myself. BWAH! It's hard to find confidence when everything seems to discourage me; that little voice in my head that tends to beat myself up for everything, other people's comments and criticisms, my own abilities ( or lack of -_- ), that sort of stuff.
