Since I have heard already often stories about girls giving up their love for the lolita fashion just because their boyfriends/husbands didn't like it I want to dicuss about it.

Would you give it up yourself just because your love doesn't like it? I can't understand it in any way since somebody that loves you should accept your style or he doesn't really loves you. I have the great luck that my loved boyfriend himself loves the lolita fashion (and even wears sometimes my dresses since he got the same size but not in the public) and mainly dresses in the common visual kei fashion but more in the gothic-like way. I think it is very hard to find a mate that loves the fashion but the most people were I life accept it because it fits me.

However, I don't know what I would do if somebody I love would ask me to stop wearing lolita fashion...but I think I would freak out.

I also have been lucky to have a loved one who appreciates my fashion taste. Though he would rather, we get some clothes for him that would look good next to my lolita. Not necessarily any of the lolita styles for him to wear, but something nice none the less.

I've dropped like two dudes because they didn't like lolita and got jealous over my friends. My last ex-boyfriend though, he didn't mind it.

When I first suggested that I was interested in the fashion my boyfriend hated it! He said he wouldn't want to be associated with me in it (we then of course proceeded to have a huge row over it). However after I convinced him that I would in fact not look like a regurgitated cupcake (he's not a huge fan of Angelic Pretty and such, but I am more classic with bits of sweet anyway), but more like the classy cute lady I am, he is more accepting. He even offered to get me the Blue Paris Gift Set from Candy Violet (seen here) for the holidays and it's sweeter then anything I've shown him before! Yay for him coming around. heart

When I first discovered the Angelic Pretty site,
I showed it to my beau right away, and in response he said...
"Man, that is so you."

xd
He kind of knows what to expect from me,
since I already surround myself with Barbie dolls,
My Little Ponies, and Hello Kitty merchandise.
He knows I'm obsessed with princesses,
so the fact that I want to start dressing like one regularly
didn't come as much of a surprise.

I even asked him if he'd be mortified to be seen with me in public,
but he said no... and that he doesn't think I'm any nuttier than he is.
Lol! I almost forgot that he'd asked for Pokémon toys last Valentine's Day.

We're both just big kids trapped in adults' bodies.

Before I started dating my husband I was into Lolita so it was as simple as if you really love me you'll accept all of me. He grew to like it and would in fact even come home with fabric for me to make things for myself now :3

My boyfriend doesn't mind. I reckon he wears loli dresses more than me.
Part of me questions that last bit, but I mostly just let it go.
'Course, I also almost never wear loli stuff. I just design it for him and his sister-in-law.

I'm a bit headstrong - so no one would dare tell me what I should and shouldn't wear. But still, I got lucky, my beau thinks lolita is pretty and...um... very sexy. >__>;

I think that if your bf/gf/husband/wife is strongly against your sense of style, then he/she is either too self conscious, or against a part of you! I understand if they are worried about the stares, but your sense of style, if it's very important to you, is a reflection of who you are! Naturally I wouldn't expect anyone to give up something that like. That's like conforming or giving up your mannerisms, favorite music or foods or your sense of humor just to please someone! However, my guy doesn't care what he wears, as long as it's comfortable, so I admit to hypocrisy when I slowly replace his wardrobe with classier pieces... -__-;

My boyfriend doesn't entirely like it. He is very shy and lolita attracts a lot of attention. I accept this and I wear lolita when I'm not around him and I spend my own money on it. Although he has bought me quite alot of my dresses~

Lately we came to an agreement that I make him bento whenever I see him and I get to wear casual lolita which is more than enough! biggrin

lol that's a really cute compromise. It's sweet that he accepts it even though he's shy about attention.

My boyfriend likes the idea of me dressing up in cute dresses and he even considered dressing in Aristocrat. It made me really excited.

My boyfriend loves it, he always wants me to buy more of it, he would never discourage me from wearing it. I try to get him to dress up in nice clothes with me but he doesnt really like what I suggest, he's a casual kinda guy who always wears jeans and flannel shirts XD I love him anyway 3nodding
