Wow, this brings back memories! I was a vegetarian for a good number of years. For all four years of high school, I think. It stopped one holiday season, when I looked at all of the food and I figured, "Eh, it was fun while it lasted!"
It was nice. I felt healthy and good about myself. Good for the esteem as well as the body, and all that. But I think that there are too many incredible dishes in the world to set rules for myself over what I can and cannot eat. 4laugh
To anyone who can pull off lasting vegetarianism, bravo to you!

i used to think i'd never be able to.... i like to think im not limiting myself. I just constantly choose to eat what i think is good. It's amazing how many good veggie foods there are out there. I had a lovely thanksgiving feast meat-free. And i feel wonderful haha (=

I'm a vegetarian too. But I still struggle at times. It's about progress not perfection though.

Vegetarians, I'm good with. Vegans scare me, though. Every vegan I've met has been absolutely nutters. @_@;;
I couldn't personally do it, though. My family does way too much cooking with meat, as does my boyfriend. I'd have to cook my meals entirely separately, which seems a silly and selfish thing to do when you're living with other people.
There are some vegetarian dishes that I absolutely love, though. Especially vegetarian Thai or Indian dishes. They're soooo incredibly flavorful and I love spicy. Pineapple fried rice with a green curry and tofu over steamed rice? Amaaaaazing.

I wish I could be, but I love chicken way too much. ;_; There's a vegetarian lolita community on LiveJournal, though it's not terribly active.

I don't see how that's healthy. I won't lie...Vegans can be crazy. And PETA can be too. They can be so closed minded..which bothers me. They're intimidating 0_0

Any time you lose sight of what's in the middle by going to extremes, bad things happen.

I'm technically a pescatarian.. I guess some veggies wouldn't accept that, but most of the vegetarians I know consider it pretty much the same thing. I'm kinda scared of people who don't eat meat for crazy moral reasons. I just do it because it makes me feel healthier. And when I stopped eating meat, I lost a bit of weight and fit into my lolita clothes better XD.

I don't like the taste of meat. But I have to eat it in order to stay healthy. I need way too many of the nutrients in meat. And I can't take that many supplements. Sort of comes with my lifestyle. But whatever.
Have fun, my vegetarian comrades.

Also like vertfonce I'm pescatarian. (And very proud! ^^)
I started off not eating chicken and other main meats, then I felt so accomplished that I decided to go vegan after those few months.
(T T)llll
Not a good decision on my case cause I was'int doing it as I was suppose to so, I got really sick cause I was'int eating enough veggies or anything for that matter. *Nervous laugh*
redface
So that's how I ended up pesca-ful and I'm having a blast (> 3 <)
