Because to think there is no higher power than us, is arrogant.
As for concrete evidence...I have none. But not everything has to be concrete in order to know it's there. You cant see air, you cant physically hold it...You can only see the effects wind has on other things..
I like to conpare that to God. You cant see him, you cant physically touch him - But look around, you see his effects (creations) all around us.

Well, I believe that there's a God for all that happen around us, just like what Apple said. And if you ask "why Allah?", to compare with others, I just can't think any that better and more true than Allah in other religion.

That is like asking me why i breathe? I don't know how i do it. I just do. And i don't know why i believe in god. I just do, i mean my parents and family leaves me for hours, but God he is always there. Not in my line of vision, but he is there. Ever since i was born i believed in him, so even thinking that question is appalling for me. I really can't explain it...
ya

Assalamualaykum, well initially I came in this forum just to see what people had to say. But thanks to sister call me apple's request, I thought I should give some of what I could answer to that Insha'Allah smile
Well thank you for your interest in asking to know about our religion Islam. Ok so I'll start with some of what sister ...apple said...cuz I think she made some important good points. Ok now you see there are different answers to this question that will satisfy different people, depending on their perspective, their views and all. So instead of making a huge essay here, I'll Insha'Allah (God Willing) will answer in short smile . First of all we Muslims worship Allah because we believe He is the Only One worthy of our worship. Even if He did not create us, or the Heavens or the Universe, He is still the Greatest because of His infinite Greatest Attributes, and He is Worthy of all praise.
Now God's existence is a fact. We can't sense Him with our five senses, but we can use those senses to observe His creation, and realize all this is His creation, and be humbled when we see the order and perfection of how He created everything. The fact that we (creations) are already here is itself the proof of the existence of a Creator. And there were many scientists, who when they studied in depth about the universe came to realize, that all of this couldn't have come about in such perfection, but that God made them in such states. And you have to come to conclusion that there is Only One God, who sustains His creation, otherwise there would have been many things in disorder, however that is not the case, everything follows in their order in harmony Alhamdulillah. smile If we could see God there would be no reason for having faith, and we Muslims believe this life to be a test to see who's true in their belief. But finally we have the religion of God, Islam, where God guides His creation by His words, when you look into His Book, the Noble Qur'an, and see the amazing perfection and how it perfectly conciliates with His creation, and that there are no contradictions in it, regardless of the vast increase in knowledge through 1400 years, you will realize this indeed is the religion of God Almighty, and the Qur'an is in fact the Last and Final Revelation, and the actual True Words of God Almighty, Alhamdulillah. So there I hope I helped Insha'Allah, peace smile

Well the reason I believe that God exists is because whenever I look around me and see all the things we have, see the way everything works I just can't htink of anything else but the face that there should be a creator for all this, someone who has more power than me yet is not greedy, and selfish.
The first thing I think of when I am feeling bad is that God is there for me even if no one else does, it's just something that was born with me, and actually with all of us, but in life we either believe more in it, or just get led the other way.
Anyway, I know this question might have a thousand answer, and they all will make sense, so just think of the reason that brings you closest to God.
Have great days.
