I was thinking of things, along line of gems and such as that is what you usually post about... and thought about keeping time... quartz movements... then there is tangerine quartz, red rutilated quartz and so on... almost fits, but not quite hence all the ???

Kero, I know ye don't want to give hints and I hate asking for one, but ye got to narrow this down a tiny bit fer me... I'm banging me head against a dead end here. Nothing makes sense. Your riddle leads me to believe I'm looking for a single word... is this word a collection of the above items.... or am I wrong in assuming this? Or does the final answer have something to do with the names of the above items... such as moon shine, moonstone, moon beam and such? (the latter being an example and not a real guess)

The word is a name for a collective group of items, each one shown in a description above. There are six of them, and the clues give hints as to their identities. It is along the lines of my chess riddle.
