I don’t want to suggest that lolitas should only wear certain perfumes, but today I smelt one I thought would be great. One of the girls where I work was wearing a very convincing cotton candy perfume. I forgot to ask where she got it though. sad
Personally, I wear “Faraway” by Avon as a day to day scent. On special occasions I have “Black Rose” by Emily the Strange. What perfume, body mists, or other scents does everyone like to wear or would like to wear?

I have two scents that I wear, both made by a small company called Perfumed Dragon. They are essential oil based, both light, sweet and vaguely floral. Rain is the muskier of the two, but still a very light clean scent. Blue Nile is very sweet, a little fruitier than Rain, and it is the perfume my friend once put far too much on (not being used to essential oils, where one can only wear one drop at a time) and proclaimed that she smelled like "a deeply perverted Caribbean whore". I don't wear them very often because the scents stay for days, even if I wash.
I tend to wear perfume more (but certainly not more perfume) when I'm in lolita, and stick to the sweeter Blue Nile.

I like to experiment with my smell. I buy a lot of those small bottles of body spray and ask my friends what they like. My personal favourite (and the one I get the best reaction out of) is Beauty Rush Juiced Berry. It's a sweet smelling body mist that I picked up at La Senza. It makes people crave cotton candy. > w<" I've had a stranger hold me and sniff me. Strange experience, but I still love the smell. o wo"

When I dress sweet, I use a plumeria spray or mango spray.

I think any lolita style can have any perfume. I don't which ones would exactly match each style, though, but I think Escada perfumes would be good for Sweet Lolita lovers. I personally think it's the best. <3

I wear Love by harajuku lovers or Love Shack lotion by the Gap (clothing company) They are fruity/floraly and they don't make me smell like a little girl or an old lady.
I also wear Dessert Treats - Candy (an edible body spray) when being fun and cute.
ASK A MEMBER OF THE OPPOSITE SEX!
Ask a brother/father/friend if you are younger and want to smell nice and sweet or a boyfriend/husband/friend if you want to smell womanly.
They will be able to help you determine which one works best with your particular natural scent. This way you'll know how others will perceive your fragrance. Most people can't smell their own natural scent (scent, not BO, everyone has a super super subtle scent) and after the first hour or so you won't even be able to smell your own perfume. Perfume changes after it is applied to the body so be sure to try a few out (only a few at a time or you will get overwhelmed) on yourself, not just a sample paper, on your wrist or neck or whatnot to see how it makes YOU smell, not just how it smells by itself!

I wear Be Innocent from Icing and Irresistable Apple from Bath and Bodyworks. I actually have an odd way of picking out scents. I have a friend who I can smell, before I see her. She smells so nice! Whenever I go to pick out a perfume, if it makes me smell the way that she smells, i buy it (Since scents react with people's natural body chemistries differently, we have different perfumes.). She is a lolita too.

A Doll Named Mouse Ask a brother/father/friend if you are younger and want to smell nice and sweet or a boyfriend/husband/friend if you want to smell womanly. That is probably a good idea but sounds like an awkward conversation. I just found something that smells alot like my perfume. St. Germain elderflower liquor. ... I'm just gonna say I smell like elderflowers.

As long as you don't smell of elder berries. wink
I don't think that conversation would be too hard. Already I'm imagining dragging my beau into Bath & Body Works and forcing him to try on every free sample lotion in sight and asking him which one he likes best.

I just realized that I left an important part out of that sentence. sweatdrop I'm single. The only male friend I really have I can't ask about what makes me look or smell good.

IN THAT CASE
Head into Bath & Body Works.
Seek male employee. Preferred sexual orientation of said male shall remain undisclosed.
Ask him which spray is his favorite. whee

A female's opinion would work too. Don't want some random employee thinking you're hitting on him... sweatdrop The important thing is that it's someone else's opinion, because you can't smell yourself like other people can since you're desensitized to it.

I just go in with a friend or two and try a few of the testers whose scents appeal to me. It can't just smell nice; you have to smell it on your skin. The perfumes react with everyone's skin a little differently.

Yeah, the same parfum can smell different on different people. However, I don't use a parfume but I smell like peach icecream because of my invisible hair lotion.
