I live in Sacramento California and I am the only lolita.
I think its pretty fair for me to say so since ive been looking for years.
When i see a group of lolitas, sometimes it makes me sad because i have no one to lolita with. I even made some of my friends dresses but they never wear them. I cant realy travel because i dont have a car and neither does anyone in my house hold.
In fact the only time i ever saw a lolita in real life was when i went to sanfran japantown sakura festivel. But it was in a crowded place so i didnt even have the chance to say hi. But i was able to snatch a GLB. (off topic)
Im the only gay eskimo in my tribe so to speak. So im wondering, do you have any lolita friends? If not, do you get lonely for a loli friend or are you content being the only one.

 I'm not a lolita, but I have a strong interest in it, as well as a friend of mine. When I wanted to have a tea party theme for my birthday, I knew it wouldn't be popular because no one is interested in that type of thing. I have some lolita-esque clothes I would have worn, but everyone else would have worn a regular party dress, and they wouldn't even have proper table manners. :[
I doubt that counts for anything. u__u I'm sorry. I live in NYC, are there are probably a lot of lolitas around here.

I always thought there was a large loli population up north {*LA loli*}
California seems to be crawling with lolitas o.o
Have you checked LJ?
I have 3 friends that dress lolita with me and my other friends dress vk/punk, so we usually travel in a pack.
I don't really talk with the other lolitas in my area because I'm a hermit shy with strangers >_<;

I don't know how closely you were looking.... but there are quite a fair number of Lolitas in Northern California. Excalibur Girls designers Aurora and Leslie are even based out of Sacramento. Plus, there are Sacramento meetups fairly often. There was an art walk on the 12th, and there's another meetup on the 20th. If you browse CA_egl, you'll see plenty of posts pertaining to your area. Regarding my own area: I'm not the only Lolita, but we're not very active as a group. I dressed up and went out to lunch with one of the girls who goes to my university, but she's a med student, and the other Lolita I immediately know of who's on campus is a law student. Frills don't usually work well with those fields. There have been a couple of small meetups, but I'm not really good friends with anyone. I'm friends with Spuntino, however, who's in the state, we just haven't had the chance yet to meet up.

Florida has a large community of Lolitas in Central Florida, the South, and even the Panhandle. I myself along with two other guild mods, Maeanalda and Tsuwabaki, are Florida Lolitas
