They are interesting people to talk to. Some of the things they say are...well...interesting you could say. Some of them are very smart, though. But, I wish they could see the possiblity of a God. It's weird how most of them just attack Christianity and they say they had bad experiences with it so they become Atheist. Which is kind of selfish and ignorant. They have their rights to believe what they want, but if they are not willing to learn about my religion or at least accept the fact that I am Muslim then I have no reason to accept them.

EDIT: I think anyone who CHOOSES to believe in the unseen is stronger than someone who CHOOSES to believe in something they have to see. I hate the mentality that, if you don't see it, it doesn't exist. Comeon? Atheists claim a lot of things, but I can't take them seriously because most of them are huge hypocrites. (Yes, I know in every religion there are hypocrites). At least I acknowledge that, while Atheists deny it.

Call me crazy. Call me stupid. Call me a mindless sheep. I will always choose to believe in Allah because I chose to do so. Allah gave everyone on this earth FREE WILL for a reason. And that's sad that people would chose to believe that this world was created from NOTHING. Also if you notice that a good percent of Atheists are teenagers. Because they think it's cool, rebellious, and "intelligent". Why do you think I meet so many more Atheists on the internet than in real life? Infact I only know a few in real life and a big majority on the internet. Why?

"Science is just as likely to be inaccurate as religion is. What science accepts today is entirely different from what science accepted just a few decades ago. Scientific fact is always changing, and is therefor never really true. That which is "true" and "real" today likely won't be in 30 or 40 years' time. What atheists cling so tightly to is just as much of a fallacy."

Glad you asked this.

I used to really dislike Atheists, i had such bad experiences with them.
But earlier this year, i met a good friend in Denmark who is an Atheist. You could not tell it, he is not selfish or arrogant like other Atheists...

He is a humanitarian and a pacifist, and very kind to anyone - especially Muslims in Denmark. We have a lot in common, and have discussed religion 1 time, it was not tense as I expected.

Atheists are definitely a mixed bag. I used to be atheist.

Really, for me, it depends on the atheist in question wink . The loud, obnoxious ones that proclaim "There's no God!" make me headdesk. Then giggle at the irony of their assumed "logical stance" while making such a concise claim that can not be supported.

I've known a few atheists though that have been very kind, intelligent individuals. They understand that "all religions" = Christianity. They understand the fine line between saying "There is no God" vs. "In my experiences and beliefs I do not believe there is a God." I love atheists like these, but unfortunately they seem few and far between sad

Everything is a mixed bag. There are good and bad apples everywhere, regardless of religious affiliation (or lack thereof). Intelligent individuals, caring individuals, and also arrogant or selfish individuals are to be found among atheists as well as among the religious.

As such I don't have any stance regarding "atheists" in general. Actually, I probably was an atheist myself, or maybe rather agnostic, I don't know. I didn't believe in God for the most part of my life.

It's a shame that many people turn away from religion because of bad experiences in their childhood or with the people. I think this is a major responsibility on the parents and general society.
Because if your actions are such that they actively drive people away from faith, you're doing something wrong. We are all ambassadors of our faith, that's how I see it. Of course, if you haven't been extremely restrictive or militant, and your children decide to follow another path, that is their decision.

I also don't have any bad experiences with atheists. In fact, on that topic, I have more bad experiences with muslims even >.> But I don't base any of my stance on the ideology/faith on that. Because the people do not necessarily equal their religion/way of life. Among my good friends have been die hard atheists, Christians of all kinds, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews.. etc.

I also don't particularly mind if people say "there is no God" versus "I don't believe there is one". Obviously the latter is more kind and is generally appreciated to promote the discussion, but people are entitled to voice their opinions and back them up with arguments if they wish.

So yes, I literally have no stance on atheists as a group.

i used to be athiest. that is, i believed in afterlife, a Spirit, and the Spiritual Dimension. but i felt that i couldn't know for sure whether a god could exist or not, and was under the impression that it was extremely unlikely, what with the scientific evidence that wa sto be had (i hadn't realized back then that it doesn't exactly disprove god). even when i did have my own personal experiences that were almost irrefutable proof to myself that gods and the Creator exist, i was FAR from ready to accept that Creator into my life. i have since been in and out of Christianity, having never fully accepted it as the path for me. and in fact, i can't even follow that god, no matter which religion or even without the trapings of organized religion.

what i recall is that back when i was atheist, itdidn't make since that a god COULD exist. but now, i can't imagine how it could be possible for a god Not to exist. ya know?

as far as other atheists i talk to go, they seem to be a nice bunch, if lost. some are ignorant, some outright arrogant, and others are just too unable to trust what they can't proove.

Sometimes I just hate how atheist post picture about belief. -_- It's just annoying. They don't even come out with any points.

My friend's an atheist. He has his views on it, but i think it is the influence of his family.

As long as someone is respectful and tolerant of me, I am happy to return the favor. Some of my good friends are atheists, and it's never a problem.

Now, I do get annoyed by some atheists that are not my friends. I get rather offended when they imply that I am stupid or crazy for believing in something that can't be proven. I feel like if you go through life believing only what you see, or what has been "proven" scientifically, you're in for a lot of disappointment.

But like I said, as long as the person is not constantly questioning or criticizing my religion, or trying to "show me the error of my thinking", I have no problem being friends with them. That goes for atheists, and people of other religions as well.

i solve that with posing that they are equally stupid to automatically believe that something ISN"T true when they can't prove that it isn't.

and when they retort, i tell them that at this point it's just another semantics battle. xd

That's my view as well. People say they can prove there no higher power, but all they end up saying is that they can prove that I can't prove that there is one.

Throw them the concept of deity being non-falsifiable ninja .

What's fun about those people is when you start to ask them why their gnosis is superior to your own. I mean, if they want to toss out *your* personal experience, then I'm pretty sure it's some kind of fallacy for them to only go with their own and state it as fact.
So really...no one has any solid proof that gods exist or don't exist.

Many of the atheists that I've come across are either in reality "angry at God" or they aren't sure if he is there. Thankfully, most the ones I've spoken to are intelligent and kind. They feel that they need to be as good of a person as possible, because there is no after life. Personally, I find such views both admirable and depressing. However, I can't judge them.
