Dynamite can be used to cut down trees. To cut a tree 18 inches in diameter needs 5 sticks of dynamite, one each on the four cardinal points of the compass and the 5th one going on the side you want the tree to fall.
Following the construction of a dam, a tree 18 inches in diameter was completely submerged in water. But its top kept fouling up boat propellers, so it needed to be cut down. A diver went down and placed the four sticks of dynamite at ti's base. Now if the current is flowing south at 2 knots per hour, where should he put the 5th stick if he wants the tree to fall north?

Man I'm thinking to literally I guess if not north because of this Quote: the 5th one going on the side you want the tree to fall. then south And out of curiosity whats the diameter of the tree? If it matters.

Oops, sorry... diameter is 18 inches, forgot to state that didn't I...

I'm also pretty sure dynamite needs some sort of fire to explode...

Yep...that too...although there are underwater explosives, I don't think TNT (Gah...song in my head)....is one of them.
