Which is better, a trumpet or a cornet? question Personally, I like the trumpet better, because it's longer, and just looks more majestic somehow. I play the trumpet. I know that they sound the same, but the trumpet just looks cooler. biggrin

you really could have asked this question in the trumpet thread, no use posting this just to get it locked. although i personally like the way the cornet sounds, and the slightly different timbre it has.

I tend to prefer the Cornet, just because it seems more traditional to me. ( pretty stupid reason, but whatever)
